Anybody ever broke one? I was getting some buzzing in my handlebars
at 2000-2500 rpm so I tightened the buzz bolt. Got maybe 1/2 face
tighter. Should I go more? Still tingles a little in the same rpm range but
it helped a lot. Just don't wanna take a chance on breaking anything.

That is a tool steel hardened bolt.  I pulled on my rachet as hard as I possibly could.....and very occasionally in temp changes, I still get some noise.

However, my buzzbolt made noise, but not perceived vibration.  I still get harmonic vibration in my throttle grip (iso grips) at sustained high speeds/rpms which causes my right hand to go to sleep.  Only solution is gloves/throttle boss/throttle lock.

I have heard the term Buzz Bolt, but don't seem to remember it being on the handlebars???   Or am I thinking of something else....?

No, it's actually close to the radiator, but the vibration(to me) is felt in the
handlebars, and barely in the footpegs. Maybe "tingling" is a better word than vibration?
It's a lot better than it was after I tightened the buzz bolt, I just wanted to know
if I could tighten it more. cooldude

I did mine in 2002 I guess and it hasn't buzzed since. No ... I didn't break it LOL!
After examining the spacer tube that is over the bolt, I realized that it was a bit too short. Since the vertical frame tubes are quite large, there is no way in hell that I could tighten that bolt enough to take up the slack.
I have therefore:
1. Filled up the tube with silicon RTV (prevent buzzing)
2. Added a washer (or 2 ... I forget) between the buzz tube and the frame tubes
3. Tightened the bolt quite a bit ... but not breaking it.
No more buzz ...  Cool

Que, that is exactly the little trick that is necessary on some bikes.  That bolt sleeve inside the frame may rattle despite 200ftlbs on the bolt/nut which are outside the frame.
