Do we as a group appreciate the shared kinship of Valkyrie ownership and the only Valkyrie board that has lasted for 20 plus years? We owe it to ourselves to embrace our opportunities for learning, organizing, and helping one another. Do you visit this board practically everyday as I do? That makes it an important enjoyable asset in our lives which is valuable to me because I haven’t been in a position to ride and enjoy my Valkyrie for 5 years.

It seems that politics will always be a part of the subjects that come up and with good reason since we live in such a politically charged environment which I don’t see changing anytime soon. Even so, each of us owes it to every other member to maintain a positive upbeat attitude about everything we post. Any time we see a post that a member says in before the lock or something similar we all know that the conversation has devolved and is going nowhere. We all have the option of how to respond to posts to which we disagree. I like to use humor but maybe it’s not always recognized by some to whom I am responding.

I think we owe it our moderators to keep things positive and upbeat which will make everyone have a better experience. I’m all for healthy debate whether it’s oil, tires, dark side, or politics but we can do better in how we show respect for one another. Feel free to call me out if you think I step over the line at any time as I don’t want to bring anyone down.

Done rambling for now. cooldude

Thank you, f6john.  I agree with your perspective and especially that the camaraderie that binds us is more important that the cultural or political differences that divide us.

One thing I would add.  It's not politics that is the problem.  The problem is respect, or rather lack of respect.  Ridicule and the desire to rub others' noses in our differences is destructive.

I agree, respect is where it all begins and ends.

Maybe respect should start with the System Admin. See my example below.

95%? Really? Where does that number come from? (Trump exaggeration)
While I’m very happy with my market gains recently I’m not sure how much credit Donald gets. Maybe someone smarter than me should chime in.

Would that be almost anyone?   (System Administrator)

It wasn't disrespect.  It was a humorous response to something he walked himself into.  It would have been an open door even if he had bothered to say, "smarter than I."   Smiley

P.S.  I am unlikely to take respect advice from one who is so poorly qualified.  I have removed many disrespectful posts from this member.

I was probably a difficult child even though I didn’t recognize it of myself back then. My Dad use to say to me alot, you need to take that chip off your shoulder. I understood the concept but not what chip I was carrying around.

Dave, how about taking that chip off your shoulder for a day or two and see how it feels, you might like it better. There are enough chips being carried around on this board to start a bonfire. Suggested with the best intentions I can muster.
