I live in a small gated community of about 250 houses with a couple miles of 15 mph roads. I'll ride the other bike around here that didn't get out on the road that weekend to stretch her legs and move some gas, charge some batteries. A fella waved me down a while back to talk bike and eyeball the valk. I noticed a few houses had these nice wooden flags above the garage as his did. Turns out he makes them, he asks me if I work on these bikes and says his wife's Yamaha V star 1100 needed some carb work done as it barely runs and only on choke, it has sat a good while. He offered to make me a flag so I offered to work on the 02 Yama. I reviewed some Utube videos and I found it easy to work on. Of course I suggested we do air filter, plugs, carb gaskets and wound up replacing bowel screws and the petcock because the brass tube came out of the housing before the rubber gas line broke free. 87 bucs for petcock. about 180 bucs in parts and it started right up and runs smoother than they can ever remember. Some of us know the feeling of that carb job done right.   Smiley.  took me all of 8 hrs and he was happy with my fee compared to what the local shop wanted..

Good call, o.k. I'll name my shop "Dirty Deeds" but gonna leave out "done dirt cheap"  Undecided. Well with what Honda wants [115 hr] my cost is dirt cheap tho.
Forgot to add while working on it my next door neighbor lady came over with "my Harley won't start", I walked over with my pocket size battery pack and jump started it in 2 minutes. She returned the pack after her ride and said she ordered one from amazon.

Thanks Larue.  cooldude
Doug he makes them to sell for 50 bucs, all wood with each star glued on and 2 or more clear coats, I can hook you up if need be, kinda large and heavy to ship but not impossible.

Mike,
When life gets back to normal and the restaurants re-open... Andrea and I will drive out & take you and Liz to lunch and ride home with a new cool flag (or two) I'm residing in Ocala weekends now.

Wow.....Ocala Doug can be your new name!

Just throwing this out there but since nothing much is open about the only way to enjoy a ride to eat is if we pack lunch on the bikes and practice social distancing somewhere!  Wink

Lesa and I popped one of the boats in the water today. Just us.
Went through the Dora Canal and there had to have been 40 pontoon boats most of which had 8-10 people on board. That is a pretty confined space.
Gorgeous day though and tons of boats in the lake. We stayed out for a couple hours before duty called and we had to get Lesa back for her mom.

Good on ya Mike for helping out, plus you learned something.  On the State Parks, they are all closed to camping at least per some of our camping friends.  Some of those were kicked out.  Lots of folks from Northern climates winter in Florida and some are full time RV'ers and are now scrambling for a place to stay.

Mike, it was posted in the Paper today that all State Parks; County Parks; and City Parks are CLOSED until further notice.

Yeah I was afraid they would all be closed,  Cry  Oh well, guess we will let this ride out a while and stick with no large gatherings for now.   Undecided
Looks like I have another busy weekend in the "Dirty Deeds Garage" as a local friend needs fuel rail o rings done in his Valkyrie, something I won't need Utube for.   Roll Eyes
I'll keeps ya's posted how it goes.   Cool

We have been going like gangbusters at work. Six new and sold boats to rig since middle of last week plus normal service work.
I heard that they will be closing the boat ramps as well that are in the park system. That should slow us down a bit.
Still plenty to do though.
