While I am usually a very social person, I'm also very comfortable being on my own, so this social distancing thing is pretty easy for me. The two best ways for me to get lost for a few hours, a day... or more with just my own thoughts to keep me company, are solo riding... and solo fishing.
With the Mrs now almost two weeks into her knee replacement surgery recovery and comfortable enough to be without my ever- present loving and tentative care  Smiley for a while, and with the fabulous weather we've been having and the ice now off the lower mountain lakes, a peaceful day alone on Grace Lake was just the ticket on this day. Just me all alone on a secluded mountain lake, a couple eagles and other assorted birds, an industrious beaver, and a couple trout who kindly accepted my invitation back to my house for supper  Grin

Geography is a very diverse thing.  Up your way is amazing and beautiful wide open spaces.

The safest place for me (in vast urban sprawl) is my backyard.  I'm good with that, my sheds and power equipment have never been in better shape.

Next, I'm thinking about waxing my big Ram Promaster, but man that is like 120 square feet of waxing.  And the Tom Sawyer trick is not going to work; no young people have done any work in my neighborhood in 20 years (that I've ever seen).

I don't know how you play baseball with that bat though.   Grin

Mike,

I hear ya, bro! Gotta say, however, that Jess makes a good point about that bat... Or, do you use the bat instead of tackle? In any case, good ol' solitude does have many rewards, and I do know of what you speak!!! Thanks for pointing that out...

Jerry....it was about 8C  (46F) up at the lake once the sun was out in full force. Got up to 18C (65F) down around my place...it's been a fantastic week weather-wise.

Jess, Bruce....the "bat" is a fish bonker one of my daughters made me for Father's day a few years ago. It's 15" long. I typically release most trout I catch,  but I like to keep some now and then for the BBQ or smoker...especially early in the season when they're caught in cooler water.

very scenic,  am jealous.   Now that both my kids are in college away from home,  just the wife and me are going to be doing come spring MORE weekend stuff we have been neglecting for years such as our scanoe being much more stable but less agile/fast as regular canoe taking to somewhat local rivers/lakes somewhat nearby 1 1/2 hours away or so got a few spots picked out.  PLus, renewing our husband/wife fishing licenses come April as well.    Less cycle riding and more canoeing/fishing on weekend is not such a bad thing either.
