Are gun prices going to go up, stay the same. Was going to buy some guns in a few months but if prices are going to go up, I don't know. What do you think.

Gun prices always go up. Now is always the time to buy. Or pay tomorrow’s higher price.

well.....not always. Years back when Obama was first elected AR-15's went up to $1500 and my brother bought 4 thinking he'd make a killing when they continued up. It wasn't long and they were back to $800. His killing never materialized. Speculation on any commodities can be hazardous economically.

IMHO, wait 6 months for the anti-gun people to be re-brain washed and flood the used market with their impulse panic buys.....

I don't believe, I've seen it first hand.

Us sane people already have our stash.... I've had MULTIPLE hard left anti-gun friends messaging me asking for advice for their first gun purchase.

Talking to other pro-liberty friends, I'm not alone in this.

I'd HOPE those formerly leftist people would recognize the TRUE meaning of the 2nd amendment (Hint - it ain't about hunting!) and vote accordingly, but I know the power of the leftist brain washing machine.....

I have no hard left ant-gun friends, so I will have take your word for it. But, I do know MANY gun enthusiasts who are out buying MORE guns, regardless of how many they now have.

I came across a nice AR-10 for 800.00 but not familiar with it.

I've not bought a gun in quite some time (Although I inherited 20 a few weeks ago). I'm in the enviable position of not really having the need for any more guns, I'm good.... But I've had at least 1/2 dozen lefty friends message me privately asking for advice on what to get. I have no pro-freedom friends exhibiting such behaviour, at least not first hand.....

Depending on make/model that's a decent price. My first AR10 was purchased during one of the first Obama scares, and back then I paid around that price for a DPMS... Quality gun. Not spectacular, not bad.....

This was a long time back, I have no idea of current pricing.

I was in 2 gun shops over the weekend in the Minneapolis area. It appears the people who listened to Creepy Uncle Joe saying “2 blast into the air” were buying up all the shotguns. Saturday afternoon the only shot guns left on the wall were 3 $1300 shot guns and a few very long barreled 410 double barrel shot guns. The inventory of $350 to $550 used and new hand guns was nearly depleted. The middle of the road to high end 1911s hadn’t been bought up. The wall of ARs had a decent dent in it. Even the supplies of new and used revolvers had been bought up. They posted on face book that they are temporarily changing there hour from 9am to 9pm 7 days a week to 10am to 6 pm, closed Sunday. Your most likely behind the 8 ball at this point in time. This shop is a major player with 4 stores in Minnesota, 1 in Wisconsin and 1 in South Dakota.

Amusingly I've got an Armalite branded AR-15 (The AR in AR-15) that I promised to a friend a year ago for $400.  He's having trouble coming up with the funds, but I'm not a profiteer, so I told him I'd hold it for him.

SEVERAL leftist friends in our private group we're involved in tried to outbid him on it.

I had to shut them all down, I'm not out to make a buck on a brother, I promised it to a brother at a set price, I will honor that set price until/unless he says he can't do it.l

People are preparing for the riots which I believe will come if this economic collapse is allowed to continue. I even heard the governor of NY say this can't go on much longer economically. They get these doctors on TV who are now saying just a 3 or 4 months of lock down and everything will be fine. At this rate it won't be fine in 4 weeks.

We're talking 20% unemployment rate in the next couple of weeks. Places like FL are getting hit hard probably close to a million people out of work because of the theme parks closing, cruise ships shutting down, spring break at 10% of what it should be, airline workers etc. etc.

I live near Hilton Head Island and they cancelled the golf tournament which is said to bring 100 million dollars in one week. Easter will be shot and so will spring break. The working population of HHI is heavily dependent on the spring rush of people, winter is a no money making time of year. In 6 weeks many people and businesses make a quarter of their yearly money.  The guys who rent bikes, even security officers and cops who rack up the over time this time of year.

History shows this will not end well. Get ready for violence. Might not happen but the property theft rate will be going up.

Any society is 9 meals away from anarchy..... Just saying.... I hope all my friends were prepared before this. I hope it doesn't come to that. So far the stores are holding up (My sincere hats off to the grocery store workers, ya'll, truck drivers and medical workers are the true heroes!) but if that stops.....

There have been some interesting developments in arms the last few years.  Which I haven't availed myself of.  Yet.  The wifey agrees, I don't need to spend more on guns.  I keep threatening to refresh my SCUBA cert and go retrieve my collection.  But for now I'll just keep the couple .357mag laser-sighted J-frames I carry ALWAYS.  Even in my own yard.  Not to mention a couple scoped long-range "sniper" hunting rifles and an Uncle Joe shotgun.  Or is that a tactical one?  I forget.  Fer sure none of those evil scary black assault weapons of war.

Demand from virus and economy (and associated fear, real and imagined) is driving demand up and prices too on both guns and ammo.  I see the prices going up on private guns and ammo sales here in VA.  The same lots of 556-223 (1K) that were $300 everywhere are now approaching $600.

Unless you need defense now, I would wait this out, as I don't think we are looking at Armageddon from either the virus or economy (and I'm much more worried about the economy than the virus), and prices will be back to (somewhat) normal in months... hopefully not too many, but that is the single most overriding question we are all wondering about today.

Edit: When I say months, I don't mean things will be all roses.  What we all need to see is a sustained turnaround in both new infections and deaths.  That will be just the beginning of the end, but it will be very welcome indeed.  So will any new discoveries of good cure or treatment.

AND all leftists who supported, voted for or funded any politician running against the second amendment should be charged five times the going rate for anything firearm related they buy now.  (if that was only possible)

not Armageddon but zombie apocalypse?    Evil Grin

If you find a good deal on a gun of your liking,  buy it now.  I think prices will go up as supply goes down simple economics supply and demand.  I would think though the basic guns anyone can buy at say Cabelas or other places like Gander Outdoors will not go up much if looking for the basic type of guns, but I could be wrong on this have not checked lately.

Well last Wed. I saw 1st. hand who was purchasing as I stood in line for 1 1/2 hr. to pick up my layaway as it was due to be picked up. Most people were not your everyday gun enthusiast by the questions they were asking the clerk. Buy low sell high applies to firearm industry as well as any other business. Definitely a bit of panic mode going on but to the those that are in know, we are/have been prepared most of our lives. I have yet to purchase a big bore hunting rifle but I have all the other gun needs filled.
