Right here in this small burg I call home we have a decent Mexican restaurant a Mom and Pop place-pricy-a steak house/BBQ joint-very pricy-a pizza place-good pizza-and the micky Ds. I miss the inter action with the wait staff breezin with the owners or managers. Also miss the inter action with folks at the Church i attend-some of them I've known for years. In West Plains yesterday after noon noticed the larger restaurants and the micky ds with parking lots EMPTY. Also noticed a distinct lack of traffic on the highway. I Thought the month between closin the old micky ds and opening the new micky ds out at the Loves was a long month!  Lips Sealed I barely See my friends these days cuz they Are as concerned as i iz bout health issues.  crazy2 But on the plus side here in the Missouri Ozarks sun be shinin time i put some breakfast away warms up a bit more it BE knees in da breeze time!  cooldude Hope everybody can git out fer dat ride-even if it are a F R O T Y!  2funny RIDE SAFE.

For sure life as we've known it has changed! For a time... This will all pass in time, but things will never be exactly same. Our generation has been marked, even scared in some ways, by events, and this is yet another of those indelible imprints upon us. We cannot stop living, however, and we must do whatever we reasonably can to carry-on... Whatever we decide to do, though, I hope it is sensible with sensible precautions... I wouldn't want to loose any of my treasured friends, so just know I'm rooting for all y'all!!!

Realism gently stirred into common sense.  You've got a knack for that!   cooldude
You take "extra" precautions, too!  You're a national treasure!   Wink

I’m not missing too much but I probably eat at our favorite Mexican restaurant more than any other place. For me, take out Mexican just doesn’t measure up to eating my fajitas hot on the cast iron plate they give you in the restaurant. I’ll wait it out and I’m sure my first visit back will be special.

As this virus unfolds maybe we will all see things a little differently when it comes to what is important and what we miss the most.

We too are missing eating out.  Have 3 good Mexican places, plus a good rib joint, not to mention  the Chicken shack.   All good places to enjoy their special food.

This Virus will pass and will again be able to enjoy eating out.  till then, DW is a really good cook.  I just get tired of cleaning up the mess that happens after she does her thing.   2funny

I'm missing going out to eat more than anything else. Two restaurant types you can't swing a dead cat without hitting in KC - Mexican and BBQ !!! Plenty of choices for both. Not sure which one I want to go to first Smiley

Yes the misses is a fantastic cook (and baker - when she has time). But she is swamped with work at home (she is currently doing Mortgage processing).

Broasted chicken will not work as a take out. It has to have that crispy crunch and the potatoes have a little snap when you bite into them. Put them in a plastic box and the steam takes away the crunch.
I cook , but it is one of the things I am not equipped to make.  smitten

After about 3 weeks of being at home and eating only home cooked meals the wife and I got in my truck and went riding out in the country for a couple hrs.     Stopped one time in Waller Tx to eat in the truck at a Sonic Haburger place.    We got the 1,650 calorie cheeseburger with tater tots and onion rings and a route 44  strawberry fresh fruit slushy each.
    IT WAS DELICIOUS!!!!
