When I hit the starter it was not what I expected. The old girl hadn't been started for a few weeks, my old pipes have a nice low rumble and have been satisfactory for many years but I wanted something different. Wow....what a sound the Vikings make. I have a slight miss at low rpm cruising but when you really twist it...no miss. It screams like a banshee, feels like there's a power boost judging by the butt dyno. Re. the slight miss, I'm going to run the bike as is for a while with some Techron in the tank. Since it has sat for some time it may clear up on its own. My mailbox is at the end of the apartment complex where I live(about a block) so decided to take the bike down to get the mail. Took me the longest time to pick up the mail and that block down there ended up being 5-6 miles long. My first ride of 2020, man that felt good. The center stand lever hits the left pipe on the inside....just a hair so I'll hit it with my die grinder wheel so it will clear that muffler. Tomorrow I go over to my daughter's place and pull in the garage. She likes to nap on a Sunday afternoon.  Evil

Good job John,
If you get tired of the sound (I doubt you will) let me know.

there is some slight adjustment of the muffler that can be done to move it away from the center stand. u can also adjust the center stand stop.

I had to do both and I also put a small section of a bicycle inner tube on the lever.
when adjusting the mufflers, for both sides watch for how close they are to the saddle bag heat shields.
Had mine too close after fixing leaking muffler connection and some of the chrome was worn away.

wait until you can really open her up, the vikings will scream and will pull really hard after 4k rpm when she gets into the power curve of the pipes.

Enjoy!

Don't you have the stop bump? It should be adjustable.

no drone.  core can be removed and re-packed.  sounds loud and great without the cores.

"wait until you can really open her up, the vikings will scream and will pull really hard after 4k rpm when she gets into the power curve of the pipes."
================================================================
Yeah, I noticed that. Wink That 6(probably more) mile trip to get the mail a block away let me do just that. Went out on the local I-41 access a couple miles away, rolled onto the ramp while watching all the cars pull a lane over to let me in. Turned out wasn't necessary, I twisted the grip and was gone, pulling near the limiter in each gear. What a feeling to be back astride the beast and letting it roar. Took the I-state to the next exit and back home, sort of an oval circle....my place sits in the middle of the two access points.

Re. adjusting either/both the centerstand or muffler, I tried that to no avail. I did improve it some but still hits so now will grind down the inside of the CS lever just a tad....barely hits now but will keep the CS from retracting fully and it drags on a right turn. The real issue came when bolting the mufflers to the hangers. One bolt would be at the closed end of the slot which was fine, but the other bolt wouldn't line up until moved to the extreme opposite end of the slot they sit in. Result, the bolt would fall out of the enlarged access spot at that end. So, I marked where that bolt could hit the hanger and still be in a solid part of the slot, pulled the hangers off and drilled a new hole. A little paint on the fresh hole and now it slips right into place. Did I mention....love the sound at highway speed, apparently a couple truckers did as well. On my test run on the I-state I ripped past a couple and both gave me the air horn and a thumbs-up. I waved back and kept rolling.  Cool coolsmiley

Pulled into the garage and gunned the motor....couple times, then the air horn for good measure. Miss Sleepy comes to the kitchen door so I say "hi honey, I'm home" then shut down. Quoting her: "dad, WTH...you scared the "heck"(not a quote) out of me" to which I answered "if so, then I'm about 40 yrs. late."  Grin  Husband Andy comes out and we chatted for a bit then left. Was a good day.  Wink

for a really unique sound ride without the baffles. Too loud for all day rides, but really sounds great.

 Mine does drown on the highway but I wear ear buds so it's not a problem. I bought the shorter slash cut Vikings because my bike was a standard then. I have since added IS bags so the pipes don't go all the way out from under the bags.

I tried to do a video with my cell but the sound really sucks. It does sound much like the Norway Youtube sound clip....loud and proud.  cooldude
