It is tough for sure, nobody wishes ill health on anyone, but I wish the govmt would be creative how to allow work to get done.

With Court closed even before we were ordered to close businesses my income went to zero
that was end of February.  Thank goodness I paid the mortgage off a year ago on my house and business address. But payroll and other expenses and taxes continue to be made,  I will not lay off the employees one is my daughter and one is my wife and one is myself  I am a sub S corp. (P.C.)

There will be no evictions (of even squatters destroying apartments or drug dealers) for at least 90 days.
no real estate closings, no sitting down with people to write Wills.  I do not do criminal law so that is out.  In fact I can not even file a case to protect the Landlord after the 90 day notice time has run out.  The Landlord may have to send a new 90 day notice if she takes one penny from the tenant.  That is messed up.   This is taking without compensation by the govmt and the court should open with zoom calls have place tenant can go and landlord can go to get on the call and do some progress.

Will not happen, decision early made no more people in shelters, or jails, crime is nuts and not reported,

Here is an example I have an 86 yr old woman who rented a room in her apt and she is herself OUT due to the scumbag attacking her and police do nothing in nyc.  She is still supposed to pay her maintenance how?

People on govmt assistance coming from shelters are having parties and wrecking places because they know the court is closed. They do not social distance or do anything.  This sounds like govmt controlled anarchy to me.   I have been telling clients for years to sell their small multi family dwellings and just live in a 1 family and wait till the next recession passes.  Feels awful to be correct. I am also a moderate prepper, so food is no issue (but toilet paper is running low soon)

My only commercial (2nd floor) tenant told me earlier this month he was closing and moving. So now there is no help to pay the 20k property tax on my small 2300 sq ft building in the Bronx.  DiBlasio is not cutting any break on my paying the taxes which go up 10% a year or more.  The small businesses that are my friends are all scared to death and most want to open and just face the flu and go out on their terms, Rational? I dont know.

Lots of people have it bad, it will get worse but then it will get better as tests come online and the
govmt allows drs to rx the drug cocktail of antiviral and zpac with zine.  Meanwhile now that I am starting to feel stronger I will be wearing my mask and riding to clear my head.

Stay strong and healthy and if you are under the weather you are in our prayers for a complete healing

Also prayers for the doctors and nurses (like Cheryl) who are on the front lines to be healthy

(I KNOW you've spent Your life building a life there But When Zackly is enough Enough? )

That's kind of funny in a sad way. My wife and I had decided enough is enough and planned on taking a couple weeks in April to head south and search for a new place to live. Now we are sheltered in place. Got to laugh at the Irony .

Evan, I feel for you man. Can't even begin to imagine what it is like in NY. Hope things begin to turn around for you guys in the near future. Stay Safe people.

am NOT moving.  Not that I am adverse to a winter place somewhere south, like Delray area for instance or on the northern keys Let me know what you find Challenger, be fun to see you and Vick more often

Someone has to keep the place safe for Landlords in the Bronx and I am damn good at what I do

Besides, we have some wonderful scenery.  Hope to do my October ride and show some of you
Columbus weekend since it is looking more and more like Inzane will be out for me.  We already cancelled our April Florida time share trip and our family vacation to the Delaware shore is next to get cancelled for end of May.

If they open Court end of May I will be busier than a one legged man at an a$$ kicking contest
with well over 100 cases backed up.

Funny but close to the truth Dennis. About 3/4 a mix of German, Austrian, Polish, Russian, then we believe some Irish, Welsh, possible Hungarian and Galiciano mixed in there. Who knows how many others as we may have been wandering Jews.

Rogers without the d is Irish and Welsh with it is English.  Judging solely from how poor my ancestors were I think more Irish than Welsh on my dad's parents side.

The family crest is the Jolly Roger (my uncle thought that one up)

Some of the family here since the early 1800's possibly earlier. Some from my mom's side 1900-1910

Oss all I can say is your not alone, many I know have decided to close their doors in their businesses some because they couldn't stand the hassle others because they dont have the money. This is nuts to put the economy in a tailspin and the ones responsible are not going to accept responsibility. Many business owners have struggled so long with so little that this was just the nail in the coffin. Some dont want to put the effort in there any longer and sacrifice all you have to be a business owner. I dont say this is you but many of the same feelings and thoughts are going around.

Have you considered the payroll protection plan and filing with your bank? It could help in this time covering expenses and payroll.
