Did anyone else see 60 mins tonight? The piece on the Holocaust survivors? And as they sated the race is on to interview other Holocaust survivors Before they too pass on. Still attempting to dry my eyes with little success. RIDE SAFE.

I did not see it.  But those people went through hell on earth.  No one should ever be subjected to the horror and mistreatment they had to endure.

If you ever get to Washington DC go to the holocaust museum it will bring tears to your eyes.  My high school daughter at the time had to leave from inside was crying and very upset.  The pictures and gloominess and overall darkness inside with horrid facts are truly unbelievable to anyone who is human.

I do not have a very weak stomach usually but to see all the devastation and horror made even me sick to my stomach.

One of the things I remember my father telling me about being there for
the end of the war... he was at a place where there were ovens, some of
the other men looked in, but he didn't want to have to remember that so
he didn't...

Have not been there yet Dennis but was at Yad Vashem in Jerusalem in 1972.

It took me a long time to not want to kill Germans after experiencing that for sure and for certain.

We all have parents and uncles who fought in that war. Growing up I knew many people who had numbers on their arms.  They were the lucky ones to have lived. Losing everyone is something I wish on nobody.

Fortunately, I made a good friend in High School (after a pretty good fight which I did not win) who is German and he is actually my oldest friend today.  He helped me understand, because he had relatives on both sides, that if you lived in Germany you had no choice to go and fight, but you had a choice to be a human. We both lost relatives in that war and in later wars.

Some who would not give up Jews to be killed came forward, and in many countries.

We call them the Righteous and I support these aging heroes to this day.

For evil to succeed all it takes is good people to do nothing and take it.  Don't do nothing do something
Your gut will tell you what is it and how to do it.
