Have not been there yet Dennis but was at Yad Vashem in Jerusalem in 1972.
It took me a long time to not want to kill Germans after experiencing that for sure and for certain.
We all have parents and uncles who fought in that war. Growing up I knew many people who had numbers on their arms. They were the lucky ones to have lived. Losing everyone is something I wish on nobody.
Fortunately, I made a good friend in High School (after a pretty good fight which I did not win) who is German and he is actually my oldest friend today. He helped me understand, because he had relatives on both sides, that if you lived in Germany you had no choice to go and fight, but you had a choice to be a human. We both lost relatives in that war and in later wars.
Some who would not give up Jews to be killed came forward, and in many countries.
We call them the Righteous and I support these aging heroes to this day.
