Well its time to change out the tires on the IS. I have the VENOM R on now and really like them. Am I correct they aren't available any longer? If not what would you guys suggest that would be comparable? Handling and price wise? Thanks for your help. Jack

I just recently got my first Avon Chrome. Maybe 1,000 miles on it. So far, so good.

I have Chromes... they seem fine, just like Cobras and Venoms... they can't just keep selling the same thing, you know, that would be gauche! -Mike "and less profitable "

$435 https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/$372 https://www.americanmototire.com/There's a $60 per set rebate from Avon until the end of October. https://www.americanmototire.com/motorcycle-tire-rebates/Looks like I might be buying Chrome's due to the rebate/price at AMT. Been buying from AMT most the time as they usually the cheapest prices and delivers within 2 days. Helps that the regional warehouse is in NE Indiana but to be honest I never waited any longer than that regardless who I purchase from. I can still get the Exedra's $50 cheaper but my budget is usually $300 per set but still wearing out the Cobra's to justify whether I'll go with the Chromes. Haven't had a issue/disappointment with either brand. Happy Easter to all and God Bless.

Avon Cobra Chromes is what I run on both my 2001 wing and my 97 Valk (recently switched back from CT to MC , love the old feel in handling) Best MC tire I've used. Got them all on Walmart.com on sale , very cheap....not sure what they are selling for on there now , but worth a check.

yah, not so sure now but on certain things like some tires investigating walmart or amazon.com has cycle tires good deal on them as well as car tires much to my surprise. thanksgiving time needed new car tires and black friday deal got a great deal on a set of 4 goodyear assurance near top of line car passenger tire. Will be checking walmart out again black friday during thanksgiving time to see what deals they got on the SUV this time. I just ordered a darksde car tire for my suzuki burgman 650 scooter rear tire a federal tire on amazon.com for only 43 bucks walmart was 45 bucks while tirerack.com and others were 53 bucks for same exact tire. A no brainer going darkside even on the 650 scooter got only 6-7K miles out of top of the line bridgestone cycle rear tire and expect 20-30K out of federal car tire 43 bucks vs. 120 for cycle tire. gotta get me the darth vader darkside sticker on the scoot....

I have been looking at all of the suppliers. My next question is what is the exact sizes do we need on our valks for the Avon Cobra Chromes. Front and Rear. The numbers have changed since they got rid of the Venom R ?

I have to get a new set for my I/S at some point. It currently has a set of ME880s with little wear, and both wheels and tires are going to be transplanted to my Tourer. Plans are to acquire and powder coat another set of wheels, install new meats and rotors then install the wheels on the I/S,
There's around 11K on the Tourer's current Avons and I'll likely get another season or two from them, at which time I'll repeat the exercise.
