In which way?
As in no other Democratic challengers popping up and Joe receiving the parties nomination. Maybe Obama gets to choose the VP?

The only deal it seals IMHO...invoke Article 25 to replace him in short order with the unelectable running mate, that is if he's not in a coma by November

I think he might be getting those anyway in his new found hallucinations.

(satire) Many leaders, um, you know, they, um, don't rub you the right way," Obama said. "But not Joe. Joe, see, he, um, touches everyone he comes into contact with, whether they want him to or not. He's breathing down Trump's neck in, um, in the race now, and I know he will overcome and grab a come-from-behind victory. I'm very fondle--excuse me--very fond of Joe, and with a stroke of luck, we'll be able to lick Trump in this election as we grope about for the White House."

I realize it's the Bee, but still.... We've all been touched by those two for sure, but not nearly as much as they both are already.

Assuming Joe stays healthy and his mind doesn’t slip anymore than it already has, the biggest announcement between now and the convention, whenever that will be, is the VP pick. Is it almost certain to be a woman? Will race be a factor? Will Latino choices get the nod over African American? Is there anyone who meets the above criteria that voters will feel safe turning the country over to when they go to vote? Or will it be a I hate Trump referendum?

Well, he's not going to endorse Trump, so who does that leave? How courageous to stick his neck out like that and endorse his party's candidate.

not to age discriminate, but shouldn't joe biden and trump be retired?
trump is 73 and biden 77. Is there ANYONE in the United States under age 65 willing to take the job?
seriously, would anyone with any common sense vote for anyone age 77 and expect to fully have it all in tact to make it another 4 years? Bernie Sanders was age 78, that is both my mother in law and moms age now and mom has altheimers bad and my mother in law, although in good shape, admits she is not as agile and limber as she used to be slowing down somewhat as well both mentally and physically and thinks she might sell her bicycle since is becoming unstable on it somewhat and probably more so thinking that if she falls and breaks something might not recover well.

I’m not sure I could keep up with Trump when I was in my 50’s. I think it depends on the individual. Health issues can grab you at any age and I like and value experience that can be brought to bear on the challenges of the world. Joe may be ok but he sure doesn’t inspire confidence when he speaks.

When I heard the announcement the first thing that came to mind was "kiss of death" to his campaign.

Elizabeth Warren has jumped on the bandwagon this morning too. No, Elizabeth, you can’t be VP.

Given Biden's age and health, his VP pick has to be ready to go on day 1. There is no time for a learning curve.

And, since everyone knows this, you'd think he'd be choosing a VP people could get behind as a president, not some person who just fits the ticket based on age, gender, politics and ability to speak full sentences in public.

Wouldn't it be interesting if the VP had to be elected to the position on their own merit? Like the Lt. Governor is in VA.
