I have my oem shield off and need to get it put away somewhere. I thought about up in the garage attic. The attic gets super hot in the summer. The attic is open if this make a differance. Would this harm the shield at all? Its currently bubble wrapped. Or would I be better off taking it in the house and put it some place else?

I don't know how hot it would get in an attic....but I wrap mine in cotton pillow cases and store in my garage. That's the good thing about shields, they don't take up much room.

Heat is never good for plastic.

Wrapping plastic on top of plastic could cause reaction between the two causing harm.

Especially so, in a hot environment.

Slip a old "T" shirt over it and store it in the attic.

I have one off the ServiCar fixed up this way, and it has been up there 12 years.    Still looks good.

Changed the 'T' shirt this fall when I was a digging around.   It had about a 1/4" of dust & dirt on it.

Last year I left it on the bike and covered everything. This year I took it off and have it sitting in my basement workroom. I saw no ill effects of leaving it on the bike, but thought I'd take it off this time anyway.

There was a shield on my Harley that came on and off with no tools... when I got the Harley I was
basically a fish (dirt-bike-rider) out of water, and I thought shields were silly. I took it off
and hung it up for about 7 years. 7 years of pollen (everything is yellow around here in the
spring, don't know if it is that way where you are) settled on it and became one with it, so
when I finally decided that having a shield was a good thing, my Harley shield was all
cloudy and yellow and nothing (that I found) would clean it off.

So... the T-shirt idea sounds like a good one to me...

Clean it and give it a coat of wax or polish before you put it up.  If you have a spare moving blanket around, wrap it in that as well.  But at least  clean it and give it a coat of wax.

OEM shield is hanging from the rafters in the garage out of harms way . . . via a bungee cord looped through the hole for the headlamp.
Its well used, with four inches cut off the top.  Someday I'll find somebody who is in dire need of a windshield.   ???

I had a like-new OEM shield on my bike before I got my shorter Clearview shield.  Remembering
the Harley debacle I put the OEM shield inside the Hoppe Fairing box (don't know why I
can't bring myself to throw the Hoppe Fairing box away  Smiley ) and put the box in the
Valkyrie shed rafters... I had it wrapped in towels inside the box for a while, but I looked in there recently
and a mouse had decided to make a nest in the towel... mouse pee is probably as bad for
shields as oak tree pollen... so... the towels are gone...
