Sometimes ya just gotta go...

Winter Springs, FL - Occasionally...

« on: April 16, 2020, 04:31:17 AM »

I awoke early this morning… around 4:30. Oh great, a couple of extra hours to enjoy… some more heavenly moisturfication. Yep, it actually arrived a wee bit earlier than the forecast had claimed yesterday, and it has been light to… well, a bit more than light… since then. Had we ventured out as desired yesterday… it would have ‘rained on our parade’ for sure. Glad we did not have to deal with that… Sad indeed we did not get out at all!

It is now the fifth day of scooter-less agony, and… the thought of ‘fifth’ in another context is starting to gain in appeal! Probably a good thing there isn’t a jug of ‘Kickin’ Chicken’ in our cupboard at present, though… I imagine a grounded rider drowning his sorrows could become a rather… undesirable companion in short order… especially one who is just barely borderline tolerable under the best of circumstances!

Yesterday wasn’t a total ‘washout’… I did e-file my tax return to our benevolent uncle. I thought I’d already done that, but… Man, the devil truly is in the details! I recalled how last year I’d received a notice informing me my return had been accepted by the IRS soon after filing… I still had not received such a notice this time!

I checked into this matter, and… after reopening my account, I kept clicking tabs, panels, and buttons, and eventually the eagerly-anticipated notice was forthcoming! I took great comfort in that; however… I can never rule out the possibility there could be a fly in the ointment someplace, or that I could wind-up in front of a suspicious auditor having a bad hair day who assumes I’m as big a tax-cheat as Al Capone was… I am successfully finding all sorts of ways to feel bad today, huh…?

Our girl is holding up far better than her partner. Yep, she sits there all stoic and resolute, stiff-upper-lip, courageous and optimistic… Sure, she longs for a serious roll, too, but… she also understands how things don’t always go ideally… Her partner knows all that as well, of course… it’s just that he’s a big baby prone to whimpering and pouting. She is such a ‘roll’ model… I could learn so much from her… I have, actually, but there has been so much more available… sigh…

Holy cow! I just read what I’ve been writing and… Geez, I do sound rather morose and melancholy for sure, don’t I?! Hmmmm, I’m gonna have to find a way of coping far better than I have been up to this point… Mercifully, liquor stores are generally considered ‘essential’, so I do have the option of employing a ‘fifth’ for my fifth… day of… Who knows, perhaps an episode or two of ‘My 600-lb. Life’ would cheer me up…

The planned "opening" of our (once) great economy is supposedly to occur at the end of April. That is unless a butterfly farts to loudly somewhere in Wyoming that causes a chain reaction forcing another month of lock down crazy2

Light at the end of the tunnel? I think so! cooldude

On May 2nd I have already planned to hop on the bike and head for San Antonio for a week. I figuring people will still be adjusting to direct sunlight so the roads should still be somewhat empty. The weather shouldn't be too hot yet, and the River Walk shouldn't be to crowded. Well all that and I need to get back to work.

Until then, a pile of material mysteriously showed up in my back yard. I fear there is some work to be done.

Bruce, you could always plead the "fifth".

Although I'm not sure that works with our uncles tax collecting dept.
