Seems some folks in St Paul are exhibiting their backbone! More power to them. The Governor has responded with loosening some of the more restrictive rules. They say you can go fishing now! And you can go biking, I don’t know whether you can have a motor on said bike. cooldude

Good news, John, thanks for posting  cooldude

I've been riding a fair amount since quarantine, but now am thinking twice due to the threats of $1000 fine in MI. Many bikes pass on my road, haven't heard of any citations.
I always seem to be the lucky one, though...  coolsmiley

Maybe this and safe, peaceful, lawful blockade demonstration in Lansing will have some effect on the return to sanity in MI, too.  I hope!

All of this 1 st amendment infringement by government has upset me

IMHO Neither state nor local nor the federal government may lawfully
keep people from going to church or assembling

That said it is up to the PEOPLE to have a shred of common sense and not endanger each other

Good statement.   Be smart,  in other words.   The success (or failure) of opening up is up to us, not Uncle Sam.   Carry on,  in a brave new world!

Masks are already mandated in  NY,  by the way.

Wish I could, right now, Buddy, but early spring mini-snow storm here (3").  Gonna log off from work in a minute, build a fire, and celebrate the snow at home. Already told the big-hair chick if I get cited, I will fight it (anyone want to start the VRCC Legal Defense Fund for oppressed motorcycle riders?!?)

Probably will ride Monday or so, executive order or not. In the meantime, please get a few miles in for me!  cooldude

Good perspective but the six foot spread may not do what you think it will.  Singing or shouting loudly has a result similar to coughing.  If one is carrying the virus he will by pushing large amounts of air out his mouth fill the air around him with tiny droplets possibly carrying virus.

If you're afraid of catching the virus six feet may not be the shield you need.

That said, ordering people to stay in their homes sounds like house arrest.  Can the powers do that without due process?

We The People outnumber by a substantial margin I might add All the politicians All the L E Os All the E M S or Ts All the Fire Fighters. All That being said use yer gourd fer somethin other than a hat rest. I too am amazed and ashamed and distressed by how Quickly how many folks here in The U S of A knuckled under.  Lips Sealed  Technically I'm not sposed to drive or ride around here in Missouri. And where I live is Not St. Lou or K C or Springfield. Plus I haven't really bothered to read what I can and can't do cording to politicians. Remember-politicians believe in what they pass off as a mind they know more than anybody bout anything and we the people end up with stupid azz laws on the books. Remember when deception central was pushin hard for 15% corn polluted gasoline even After Most if not All engine manufacturers stated whether by plan or accident 15% corn would void engine warranties and d c Still wanted to move ahead with the 15% corn pollution. Yeah THOSE politicians. And YET some folks believe those politicians need to remain in office even After  they've proven to most decent folks they really Ain't worth the explosives to blow em to hades. Rant sorta over fer now!  Roll Eyes RIDE SAFE.

Ride, if you get pulled over say you were going to have some cereal but you discovered you were out of milk. You are on your way to the store to pick some up.

Cleaver: I am on my way to the store to get some milk.
Officer: but according to your license you live 250 miles from here.
Cleaver: I only know of one store that might have some TP and it still 150 more miles to get there.
Officer: I thought you said you were looking for milk?
Cleaver: oh crap

I live in Los Angeles and I ride every single day, for essential or recreational/mental health purposes. (aka, because I feel like it) I have passed police officers, I wave to them, they wave to me.  Not a single problem.

No rights have been violated because of one thing.  We have been ASKED to stay home.  We have not been FORCED to stay home.

In my great state of NJ, if you own a horse you cannot go horseback riding unless it is deemed therapeutic for the horse, go figure that one out. If your horse is not stabled at your home/barn you can go visit and do wellness checks as well as groom and such but no riding.

NJ has not been asked, we’ve been told. Executive orders have been put in place. People have been arrested. One guy was arrested for sitting on the beach, alone, reading a book. Beaches have been closed, the person told the police he knew beach was closed but they arrested him anyway instead of just moving him along. The article didn’t mention anything regarding argument, resisting, belligerence or any other issue. We have a large Jewish community in a town over from us called Lakewood, there have been residents there trying to have small family gatherings for ceremonies or parties as well as some religious gatherings who have hand tickets issued.

Mike, I sympathize with you.  Your governor was interviewed.  He was asked whether his orders violated the Bill of Rights.  He asnwered that that was above his pay grade and he wasn't thinking of the Bill of Rights.  Above his pay grade?  He is the chief executive of a state.  It's his job to be sure that what he does is Constitutionally correct.

NJ has been a police state for many years. Some time in the 80’s I guess it was there was a sudden flow of T-shirts out with the phrase “Welcome to New Jersey you’re under arrest”. The shirts had a suspect up against a car in handcuffs on it. They were avail in either state police yellow with state police blue lettering or the opposite blue shirt/yellow design.
