As long as the COVID 19 "Chinese Cooties" (As my good friend Joe May would say) threat is reduced, and states have no longer mandated groups of 10 or less, we will be going forward with the ride on Memorial Day Weekend. Ground Zero : Red Roof Inn, Marion VA 1424 N Main St Marion VA 24354 (276) 378-0481 Be sure to state Hillbilly Highway Ride when booking a room to get the group rates of around 55$ You will need a room for Friday and Saturday night May 22nd and 23rd. This is the same motel the second Hillbilly ride was at in 2011. Even if the pool is open, their will be no re-enactment of the LuLu flip-flop rescue scene this year.  I managed to dig through the yesteryear album and found a treasure from that wild night  |

We checked out a few motels it was a toss of the coin to pick this one if its not up to your standards we really hate that . Its Hillbilly Highway .  |

Our Fine Governor has banned all gatherings of more than 10 people until at least June 10th.
I really don't believe that there is any chance of him loosening that.
He's been making overtones that he may keep our state closed down until the end of August.

We aren't considering date changes, If the cornball governor of Virginia hasn't changed any mandates by then. We will cancel the ride. The motel provided a 24hr cancellation notice. |

One of the best friends I've had in my life . Thoughts and prayers for his wife Margie as they both deal with cancer but her's is taking its toll .  |

Marion Va. the first time I met Charlie Mac was at a motel in Marion VA. I had just pulled over off the hiway after a very long day in the saddle and was standing outside my room having a cold beer when a red and black IS pulled into the lot, we talked a few minutes then retired to our rooms. Next time I
Saw Charlie was some 10 yrs later. On one of Joes rides when we stayed in Elizabethton TN.

My bad I was thinking it were VA but nonetheless I had the town name correct  No I don’t foresee making IZ as if the government turns us loose to start doing surgery again I will be standing at an operating table. We have 43 surgeries that we had to cancel once they put a lockdown on it and have at least 40 more that has come in needing a procedure since so my days will be long and no time off. We are only working 3 days a week now for only about 4 hrs a day. The rest of the time is spent in a chair sitting in my driveway watching the world go by. |

All, Looks like the cornball VA governor is proposing opening businesses back up starting May 15. That being said, the ride is still a go. Regardless if the social gathering ruling mandates 10 or less bodies at the time of the ride, It will still be on. I doubt we will get any fuss from the local law enforcement. If we do, it's not like they can take away our birthdays.  Honestly, I don't give a damn! Let's Ride!!!!!!! |

Just booked a room.
The lady at the hotel asked me to let everyone know that she is almost totally booked (and it's all us).
She does have a few "Smoking" rooms still available.
I just took the last "Non-Smoking" room.

Bringing it to the top... How's the political climate there these days, is the ride still on? Anyone know if there are BBQ Grilles on-site? (The kind at pic-a-nic areas). Looking forward to this ride! |
