Hey gents. Haven’t been around much, but my bumblebee is still rambling around the western US. However, I have begun observing more frequent carburetor leakage after it sits up a little while… Sometimes just a few days. I’m assuming we’re talking about O-rings in the rails because after being re-introduced with fuel, it stops leaking in a couple of hours. So, I fire up the night before let it leak and by the next morning I fire it up and there are no leaks! That sounds a lot like o-rings. I have a handful of other bikes to ride, so I’ve been too lazy to get after it. Now I have to. I’ve had carbs off a Valkyrie only once before, in that case it was just to clear out clogged slow jets. So, my question is on the Chinese kits that are so cheap on eBay, are the O-rings for the fuel rails included? That’s really all I need, as I am firmly in the camp of if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Like this one attached, are O-rings for fuel rail in there? (I have no intention of using any of the brass, by the way.) +1 Mine don't need it at the moment but I plan on getting a couple of his kits to have on-hand if a rebuild becomes necessary.

I have never had good luck with rubber compounds from China. This is includes seals and weather stripping. It all seems to dry out within a few months. Spend a couple of bucks more and buy from a name brand. Redeye has good products.

sort of related. My Stihl carb on my ms55 rototiller pretty sure took a crapper am going to take it apart and carb clean it and replace fuel filter inside gas and put back together but not holding up any hope on it running without starving of gas. Took to Stihl dealer and wants 40 bucks for just a new carb but I can get a chinese made same carb and includes rubber tubing and 2 fuel filters (dealer wants 3 bucks each) and 1 air filter (3-4 bucks each at stihl dealer) and 1 spark plug (3-4 bucks at stihl dealer) , and new gaskets all for 16 bucks thru amazon.com
Stihl dealer also wants 40 bucks labor for unscrewing 2 nuts holding carb on is all. I am going to probably attempt the carb from china and if not work, I at least get 2 fuel filters, 1 air filter, 1 spark plug, and 2 gaskets for carb which would cost more than 16 bucks total cost a a stihl dealer. If 16 dollar china carb not work I will bite the bullet and get the 40 dollar stihl OEM carb not like that did any better about 25 hours of use past 8-9 years or so (1 hour in April and 1 hour in November use is all per year) allways running gas OUT fully after each 1 hour use which is about 1 full tank of gas using stihl synthetic oil mixed in with fresh 91 octance NON ethanol gas. A 300 dollar rototiller and chariging 90 bucks with new stihl carb plus labor is near 1/3rd the cost new for an at most 30 minute remove 2 nuts job.

Not sure if you guys actually need closure on this and I may be preaching to the choir, but for the sake of anyone who hasn’t been made aware, the Redeye kit for fuel and air rails is first rate. He’s a top-notch vendor. Everything you need nothing you don’t, wonderfully detailed instructions. Highly recommended. It’s good to have my Valkyrie back...and no longer incontinent.
