I crossed over to Georgia to where the coolest vintage guitar store is.
I haven't been to a lot of vintage guitar stores before, so I guess I'm
not really qualified to say it is the coolest, but...



I got to play a 1944 Martin D-28 Herringbone ($39,000) ...



There's always nice people there. I listened (and hopefully learned a tiny bit) while
the bearded fellow and the blond haired fellow jammed on some bluegrass...

I like those rails like you have on your seat. I thought they wouldn't

I believe the guy that made them made two styles.  One ( the one I have) was made for the Mustang seat and therefore also fits the Ultimate. I think that’s correct.

The railed seat baskets (and there were at least two kinds with thicker and thinner bar stock) fit the Lowboy and Bigboy but not the Kingboy (esp with the backrest in the nose of the passenger pillion).

My Bigboy with the seat basket, just touches the seat down low, but it hasn't rubbed the seat so you can see it (or dented it in either).  But my basket is an earlier thinner stock one than the fat ones in this thread.  (the difference thick and thin is not huge)

Besides looks, those baskets really come in handy when you bungee big duffel bags (and stuff) on the solo racked rear fender.  Especially using a bungee net with the 20 hooks on them.

But you use the Givi trunk

Yeah, I can swap my lowboy and bigboy out on my chopped-off seat-basket interstate, with just the key turn and voila'.   But I almost never do it.

I ride the lowboy on my trucked interstate in colder weather, as it puts me lower and out of the wind a bit more.  And the skinnier/harder lowboy doesn't bother my delicate posterior in colder weather as I'm all geared up (including my butt).  Whereas I want more height, wind and butt padding in warm/hot riding.
