Heres a question for you, I was reading about BMW's new  R18, in another publication and comments were all over the place , positive and negative.  I mentioned that I liked it  and also that when Honda introduced the Valkyrie it was poo-pooed as well. I also stated that owners of this fine machine will attest to it stellar attributes.  SO another reader posted that he had a Valk and only kept it for a year because
'it rode like a buckboard'. Of all the things I have ever heard about this machine I have never heard anyone say that. Am I just barn blind?

'it rode like a buckboard'. Of all the things I have ever heard about this machine I have never heard anyone say that.

That's because it rides like a logtruck and that other guy doesn't know what he's talking about!

My Valkyrie (100,000 miles) has freshly rebuilt forks with progressive springs
and good 13 inch progressive shocks and I like riding it probably better than
my 2014 Goldwing Valkyrie with Traxxion suspension.

Our 20 year old bikes need maintenance (like all things) and when they're
in good shape they ride great and feel great and do all things good motorcycles
should do. A Valkyrie with forks that haven't been touched in 20 years and that
has worn out shock bushings would probably ride just like a buckboard... there's
other things in the equation too... the bearings in the steering head, the swingarm
bearings, stuff like that...
