Hey this is my first Valk a 99 interstate, sold in California. Any reason to keep the evac can under the bike after I desmog it?

And how about the pair valve that goes to the upper rails do i keep it?

Some guys had issues when removing the evap canister. If I remember it was which lines needed to be plugged. Do a search of California desmog and hopefully you’ll get the info.

In shop talk you will find the CA desmog. My '97 CA girl had an additional line to the carbs that had to be capped. The later years used different carbs that didn't have that additional line based on what I found on the microfiche for the different years, similar to the wheel bearing changes in later years. The cams were also different from the 49 state ladies on my '97 CA tourer. I don't know if that was the case in later years.

I have desmoged a CA model, no reason at all to keep the canister, If I remember correctly each carb will have a nipple to plug, #3 will have two to plug. You will need two hoses like the 49 state model to vent the carbs into the rear carb support, they have a 90* bend to go into the support if you want it to look OEM. The vent from the tank doesn't have a "T" like the 49 state model and you may need to lengthen that hose. Follow the directions in shop talk.
