Mike I know your conservative bent but this may be a bad thing also.
The false hype about this covid is causing the people like Gates to say that without a vaccine people should be quarantined or not allowed to go to certain areas. Its also the excuse to issue a stamp on peoples hands who have had a vaccine. It really does not matter to them either that people who have had flu shots may test positive for Covid further muddying the waters over the problem.
I applaud Barr in sending a letter and stating the position that the Bill of Rights and Constitution are not suspend since any excuse like the Covid is one they look to remove our rights. A vaccine against a virus that is not as deadly as the flu is not really a good thing in light of what they are trying to propose.
Considering we're (the USA) only 3 months into this thing and a report of animal testing with potentially promising result is a good thing. IMO I think it's an incredible leap forward in the science end on how this things operates and how fast scientists can counterpunch.
I am not for universal vaccinations however, at this point it doesn't seem necessary and if it becomes mandated to get a vaccination I'm certainly not going to be first in line. I've never had a flu shot.
I like to consider myself a realist. People are scared silly out there and many have a good reason, they have underlying conditions or have loved ones with underlying conditions. Even if just a hint of good news like the results of this preliminary test may help people relax a little and help us get moving back toward getting our lives back.
As a nation the fruit of our country are the people and we're dying on the vine waiting for the go ahead to return to work and bear the fruit of our labors. As far as Barr is concerned I really hope he does a good job and not just spit out words to satisfy some of the people out there. We should be allowed to attend religious services, return to work, congregate a we want and feel comfortable doing. The shut down laws were put into place so hospitals were not over run and the news is they are not over run, they never really were. All the temporary field hospitals were hardly used. None of the projections reached the levels of disaster that were expected. We have the right to choose our own destiny as individuals.
