At one point they had Graham County shut off unless you lived there or had essential business there. Also a portion of Foothills Parkway was gated off as well. We rode over Monday and its wide open all the way into Robbinsville . Traffic was outstanding ( not very much ) on The Dragon and Foothills Parkway. Deal's Gap and The Killboy ( Tail Of The Dragon ) store are open as well. You can order food but cannot sit inside and eat.

Looks like your getting some good use out of the Wing. Be careful though, I heard that they have a tendency to stop at all Dairy Queens.

Nice pics Should send them to the PO showing she went to a good home. She's getting better views and rides than she did in Florida.

Good news. I'm glad you headed that way. I wasn't sure if they were open so that makes me think that by InZane time it will be a GO!

Thankful for the staff and this site I've met folks because of the Valkyrie I'll call friends until the end of my days. Long Live The Dragon.

Joe,
Thanks for the update... and encouragement! I'm really happy to read about things beginning to open up... I'm approaching the limits of my own endurance; a time when something is going to have to give!!! Day rides are nice and worthwhile, of course, but there is absolutely nothing even remotely close to the beneficial effects of a road trip! I'm so itchy, anxious, eager... and each day the urge increases!
I was wondering how much riding y'all were able to do up there... From what I've been hearing, y'all are doing pretty well, all things considered, and it's been reported that Gordon is fishing enough to compensate for this period of 'downtime'... All y'all do find ways to cope with just about anything... good on ya, too!
That Wing sure is fine looking! Have you joined a GWRRA chapter yet? Do you have and wear the 'uniform' now? I'll bet you'd be a hit at their events for sure! Just kidding... I'm happy for you that you've picked up a gem like that, and I'm really enjoying the reports of the activities up that way... Please keep on riding and writing, my friend!

2 things I noticed on that Wing you may want to check out, maybe?
Those hwy. pegs upfront are darn low. Yah, pretty sure the pegs themselves fold up like mine if scrapping pegs, but the bolt on attachment does not. Seem pretty low for a more agressive driver like yourself since I have scrapped my pegs a few times and know I usually do not touch the pavement near as much as you have.
2nd thing is the cupholder on right handlebar. If possible, I like my cupholder on the left handlebar since feel the throttle control and front brake with right hand being free and on the gas or brake is more important than the left clutch hand to be free. Maybe also since I usually drink with my left hand to keep my right hand free to eat food of some sort (with utensils usually unless chips).
I do like that dark red in the SUN really POPS but in the shade or at night looks almost black (or at least to me). But, what do I know, I am colorblind (is true). If I ever get a goldwing, it would be equipped exactly like that with hwy. pegs, cupholder, backrest, and luggage carrier on top of trunk. Not too overly done like some, but nicely equipped. Seems to have a tad bit more chrome than stock as well which is always a good thing if equipped like that before you have to spend bigger bucks yourself to add it after fact which I probably would not do. I was going to add say 500 bucks more chrome goodies for my black I/S, but decided not to long ago.

If Joe had those pegs mounted to the windshield he would still scrape 'em. That man is fast in the twisties!
