which way would you suggest I go first?

install the cables on the handle bar first or

install on the throttle body first?  Which is a bitch to get my fat fingers into them

waited over a month to get the new cables, then  I forget to tie a string onto the old cables to use for routing the new cables.  Undecided  Seems like I'm forgetting everything I once knew (or thought I knew).  Cry

Shouldn't be hard... there's a "trick" that helps to get the cable ends off and onto the throttle-grip housing... if you don't remove your tank you need to protect your tank from getting dented... loosen the riser clamps and slide the bars to the left and you will have plenty of slack available toslide the throttle-grip housing off the end of the bars... after that the cable ends down at the carbs are loose and the only thing left is routing the new throttle cables... the throttle "cable" is a dual-cable push-pull system...

Chris is correct. I changed mine to  S.S and that is the proper procedure. Good Luck finding the secret passageway between the carbs and the handlebars. Lol. I did the same thing Dan. (actually, it wasn't that bad. Beer helps.)

I was so frustrated yesterday, I took the new ones back off the bike to remeasure them against the old ones.  I'll start back in on the replacement process this afternoon.   cooldude

but first we are going out on the trike to not waste this good weather and pick up some eggs at a local farm.  Shouldn't be much more than a 150 mile trip.  Cheesy

Ron, how do you and Carol like retirement down there?

Chris, I'm gonna give you a call later today on a different subject.
