Even before I started the video, I KNEW what your talk was going to be about.

And I share that same enthusiasm.

Ride safe.

You know, I have never owned a motorcycle that WASN'T a Honda -
1978 CB400A (bought new)
1976 CB750F (SOHC, it was tweaked in some ways over the non F models (bought from college roommate (he was not motorcycle-less after this either)))
1981 CB750F (DOHC -  bought new in Jan 1985 when I first started drawing flight pay in Pennsacola FL)
1994 PC800 Pacific Coast (bought new from dealer in Falls Church VA (DC area))
and now
1998 GL1500C Valkyrie Standard (bought used at Wake forest NC Honda dealer- I bought it with a newly activated credit card (that we immediately paid off)).

I must be a REAL rider for I sometimes drive a 2008 Kymco People S250 and not many would ride that 'just to be seen' on it.....   Grin     Yah,  I enjoy riding it especially at a stoplight when the HD next to me with LOUD pipes revving the snot out of it rattling every part of that HD at idle, takes off and I spank him overtaking him up to say 40 mph anyways....   cooldude

sucks when a 1 grand 249cc single thumper 19.3 hp 350lb. bike  spanks a V-twinky with 50-60 hp that weighs over 2x's as much, at least off the line.... Cry

few years ago I passed 2 HD's riding 55 mph and blew by them both putzing along my rural hwy. me doing 70 mph going past them..... Evil

To be fair I guess, I usually run 91 octane NON ethanol in it to max out my 19.3 hp effectiveness vs. 87 octane 10% ethanol gas.  I wonder what 105 octane racing fuel will get me?  20 hp and another 1/2 second faster up to 40 mph?    2funny

I have had a few onlookers in vehicles next to me with me being 285ish and scoot looking like a 150cc sizing them probably wondering how the heck is that thing keeping up with traffic doing 64 mph or so?  Or they are thinking POOR scoot having to uphold his weight struggling maxing that thing out all the time?   Grin

ONLY drove with HD riders once in my entire lifetime and that one time was my last years ago...  NOT a bar hopper type of guy and drinking and driving having more than say 1 beverage is not my style, especially on a cycle.

I once worked with an arrogant HD ONLY rider saying everything besides HD is  crap or more specifically Jap crap, whatever.  I shut him up in a hurry him calling my VAlkyrie a boat anchor by asking him if his 15K HD would like to race for pink slips mine at the time worth 8K top end.  he did not feel like loosing 15K on his new HD that the rear seat could not cover his wife, who also worked at my company,  or more specifically barely covering his wife's 1/2 a butt cheek with near 3 feet overhang sticking on ends of that skinny rear seat.  NOT a sight you would want to see too much overhanging on the sides in the rear... 2funny    When I then said my other cycle at the time ONLY having 2 cycles was a KYMCO 250 made in Taiwan NOT JAP CRAP he just laughed me off..    Would have been a sight me taking him maybe off the line at least on a 250 Taiwan made scoot probably neck and neck up to 30 mph anyways....  Gotta admit though Taiwan made with Kymco use to make HOnda engines, etc. back in the heyday of 70s, etc. is at least better quality made than anything CHINESE.  2 guys at work at china scooters one 50cc brand new and another near new 150cc and both had electrical issues and tons of other stuff go wrong with them right off the line new.    The guy on his 150cc wanted to race me gave him a HUGE headstart and caught him up the hill easily passing him doing 50 in a 35 mph speed zone his topped out at around 55 mph mine at 78 mph, then again 150 vs. 250cc is not really a comparable challenge.  He wanted to race so I gave it to him, did not say much afterwards.... but he was a nice guy until the next year he got seriously injured on it pulling out from work one night and a guy did not stop at the stop sign him T-boning a large chevy SUV front fender flipping him doing about 40 mph head over heels over the hood without wearing a helmet as I told him to do several times prior.  He ended up never working a day in his life again suffering serious health issues over that accident. Cry

would I ever own a HD?  NOPE, unless you gave one to me for free and even then would sell it to buy a more reliable less rumbling/vibrating cycle (or scooter)  with money to spare.
