             Shocked              SOLD              Shocked   ???

                cooldude             BOUGHT             Cool

A couple weeks ago on Classified a guy posted looking for a Blue/silver IS, I had been tossing around the idea of trying something new so I emailed him and here we are today. I fully serviced the IS put new front tire and timing belts per his request. He gave me the price I was asking and what our Valks are really worth especially one so fine and well maintained. He picked it up yesterday morning and shortly after he left I headed out to get the Goldwing over by Tampa. I had some help finding just the right one at a great price. (Thanks Jerry)  He went to see this one Friday for me. The market is flooded with these older wings most in outstanding shape and I wanted to learn what all the hub bub about them is. No regrets, she is Cadillac smooth an 07 with 38k miles, one owner, in great shape. Liz loves the Queen's Throne and that's what matters most ! We still love the Teal Valk and no plans to ever sell it.  Seems I've gone the way of many others, Flask and smokin Joe come to mind first. The Valkyrie went to a good home and I'm sure he will get as much joy out of her as I did.

When Sherry and I first saw this wing I wanted it.  I’m sure it must be difficult to see the IS go and she made many memories like our trip to Colorado and more however this new one has the goods and will be perfect.  Well I think so.  cooldude

Very nice, nothing wrong with slumping it on a wing once in awhile. LOL. I’ve travelled all around the US on goldwings, nothing better imo. When I start traveling again, I’ll probably get another but until then, the valk is a classic. Maybe I’ll ride up and check it out next weekend.  cooldude

cooldude Sweet Mike,  Shocked Great looking Wing. I know you'll like the ride and Liz will  smitten the comfy seat. I remembered you beat me to the punch on thart Blue/Silver IS a few years ago Roll Eyes but I did get a nice Black IS from TN that I also sold a couple months ago. It was meant for you to grab the B/S IS with your knowledge of working on them. She is a top running and looking bike. The buyer will be a happy Valk owner and hopefully riding with the FL Valk brothers. Congrats my friend!  coolsmiley

Congratulations Big guy!

Now you have the best of both worlds, the ultimate cruiser, and the hot rod of motorcycles.
If I had the funds, I would probably be looking that way also.

That flat six with full injection is hard to beat.
Nice clean find. Looks similar to SmokinJoes recent purchase.

Sweet looking ride Mike, and if Liz loves her seat it’s the best of both worlds. Love the color too, makes the chrome pop. Good luck can’t wait to see it on one of our get together’s.

The more I look at that, the more it grows on me. LOVE that color, kind of dark black cherry looking. The stacks look mean, are they just for looks or has there been modification done to the exhaust. I remember TJ's Wing looked and sounded awesome. With the economy grinding to a halt, unemployment and the new Wings out could be a good time to buy.

Congrats on the Goldwing...I have one myself along with the I/S and between them you get the best of both worlds...the Valkyrie attitude on one end of the spectrum and the Goldwing class at the other end. Rode the Valk two weekends ago on its post service test ride with my lady to Daytona and New Smyrna and the Wing last weekend up A1A through Ormond Flagler beach and the Loop...you gotta love the Valkyrie's distinct feel but you cant ignore the Wing's comfort especially for the Queen on the Throne...enjoy them both and hope to get to ride with you sometime cooldude

They are both great looking bikes I have also given thought to making this change and would have a hard time resisting if the right deal fell in my lap!
Does the Wing have ABS and Fuel injection?  Two things on my wish list!

Congrats Mike you wont be sorry. I too a couple of years ago bought a wing and cursed if it has ever been to a DQ yet!   Grin  Sold my IS last year to a buddy and will probably own it again ( he is up in age and I miss her Embarrassed) but I still have my ‘97 bee that I bought new and it will never leave me until ai leave it. Only sold my IS because the spousal unit said not enough room one has to go. I bought a ‘16 wing new in ‘17. Have made many a trip on it and love it. You will too.

Pretty sure all 1800 wings are fuel injected and some come with ABS, mine doesn't have it, I'm o.k. with that. I think you are right BH, I won't be sorry, New or change is always fun. Vance I guess in the last couple years the Tourer has become the go to for Florida trips and the IS was used for long distance. For the first couple years tho I was on the IS for everything, the Tourer took some time to become reliable. Just put new tires on the wing today, what a breeze the rear is compared to the Valk  !!

I recommend reading up on your new gorgeous bike, first time you have the plastics off, do every required maintenance item you can. I made the mistake of not doing ALL the maintenance I could while having my plastics off to change out an o-ring on my sending unit. It took me 8 hours the first time. To change out a simple o-ring that took less than a minute. Glad my bike is bullet proof reliable, although I'm dreading the upcoming valve adjustment. Dealer wants over $800 bucks to "check". Heck I could have a new engine for that kind of cash. Plastic removal on my GTR-14 is a pita.

Same with the FJR but they have pretty long intervals on Valve Adj. Lot's of great you tube video's on getting thru all the Tupperware to get to the heads.

Congratulations, Sixlow.  I’m pretty sure you will enjoy your new Wing, since those who have them, love them.  For now, I am happy with my Valk and my ‘94 Goldwing trike.  I’ve been ready busy lately, but hope to take a little time to do a RTE or other event in the near future.
