Ok been really thinking about Covid 19 lockdowns and re-opening.
First let me remind you, the world is not a safe place. It never will be. As bikers we know this every time we straddle that seat. It torques my jaw when they say we need to wait till it’s safe to open.
Some numbers:
80,000 they SAY have died from the virus. Not all were tested so some are false diagnosed. Is there a reason someone needs that number to be larger on paper? 60% of the deaths were old folks home residents. For those of us not in a long term living situation let’s take out the 48,000 that 60% represents. So 32,000 deaths in the general public.
Other numbers:
32,000 die each year in car crashes. We’re not afraid to drive
80,000 die every year from alcohol related problems. We’re not afraid of a couple beers
480,000 die of cigarettes every year, yet many smoke daily and think they will be fine
So we’re told it’s too dangerous to walk out of our home and breathe fresh air.
Bullshit is what I m thinking
Wearing a mask staying inside, being less active. These are unsafe behaviors to our health. Going outside you have the same risk of death as you do being killed in a car wreck. It’s totally acceptable to risk being one the 32K killed in car wrecks when you drive to the liquor store for a six pack. But, the world will melt down if we try to vote at the polls.
Tell me our freedom isn’t being infringed for political reasons that’s exactly what is really going on. The left is using this crisis to push a lot of crap that can only get passed because the rest of us are too afraid to fight it.
Ok I’m done

I see and talk to folks that are literally scared to death of this. If folks want to take precautions, fine. But I think its easy to go overboard which has been done in many places.
Right now I think this restrictions in most places will cause more harm than good in the long run.
China needs to be held accountable.

China ?!?! How about our own infringing political leaders first !?!?!? Heads need to roll (and maybe quite literally). Ok, I can sort of understand what happened at first. But at this point , we can see it for what it is - it's time for the people to take back their freedoms and make their own choices on what risks / costs are acceptable. Tell us the risks, say what your recomendations are, but let us make the choice.

I'm all for taking risks. Like others have said, that's life. One can't avoid risk. Life is like a box of chocolates.
One can manage risk to some degree, and each should do so according to their own comfort level. Partially due an immune system deficiency, I'm not in a hurry to attend a concert or the like just yet...
I do love riding. Sometimes I like riding fast. Last summer, I was going 0 mph and got hammered. I was cautious, but it happened nonetheless. I'm riding still.
Life. You can't just give it up.
Carry on!

Being the only physician on the board that I know of....The AAPS-American Association of Physicians and Surgeons- a few weeks ago had an over 2,000 pt study showing the Plaquenil works 92% of the time--Fauci appears to be on the take as most of the media is--led by globalist George Soros and Bill Gates--Gates apparently is in the vaccine business and it seems about a year is necessary for vaccine development which curiously is how long Fauci wanted the studies to be on the Plaquenil before approving its use for COVID...a daily dose of 1 pill seems to afford protection/prophylaxis. Of course Fauci has got the legislation passed that the pharmacy cannot fill the Rx for anything but arthritis not COVID....but surely a bunch of old bikers don't have any arthritis.....it's 10 cents a day wholesale for a pill ...for arthritis only of course

There may be other doctors here, but I am sworn to secrecy
Open the damn country up
Throw out the bums who want us prisoner of THEIR power
I say the government should work for us Fire all the incumbents who don't agree
Start with Pelosi, Schumer, Omar and Cortez
By the way the stock market has returned 3/4 of what was lost already in my pension fund and we are not open yet
That says a lot for the economic growth under POTUS

I wrote this a couple of days ago in my rant.
There have been PhD Thesis written on lesser questions than this. The idiots that we have elected to run this country have learned their lessons well. The last financial crisis taught them that we would put up with drastic measures and keep our mouths shut if they would bail out those “too big to fail”. They extrapolated that into “lets bail out everybody”. They have turned capitalism (the greatest lifter from poverty ever) into a socialist dream. Keep all of the profits but let society pay for the losses. By doing thus they have rewritten the rules to put themselves into perpetual power. Now they use any crisis to increase the purchasing of more power with our money. The newest idiot idea released is another 3 trillion to give all of the illegals a Stimulus check along with amnesty. I guess the Democrats have figured out that they can’t rely on the black vote anymore so they had better buy a new block with the illegal vote. As to how do we get out of this: We Don’t! The next crisis will be the long awaited debt crisis. Anybody that doesn’t think we can turn into the next Venezuela is bullshitting themselves. When we can’t borrow anymore the printing presses will have to go into double secret overdrive and the dollar won’t be worth crap. No, I’m not being an alarmist just a realist. They can’t borrow money from my Grandchildren’s earning and expect the next set of assholes not to borrow more from my Great-Grandchildren's. At 70 I might not see the end of this once great country, but then again, I MIGHT.

I have a left index finger that will probably terminate my bass playing days long before I want to, just about always red and often hurts, taking 2 Naproxem in the AM and 3 Tylenol when I go to bed to cope with it (along with other aches and pains).

Do you have any autoimmune disorders? I do, and I find it interesting. But yeah I take OTC stuff on occasion for the aches and pains.

I would read 'The Ozone Miracle' by Frank Shallenberger, depending on NSAIDS for pain relief is a dead end street. I also suggest high dose Vitamin C as a means to control inflammation, I use 25g per day avg to keep an exposed root canal from flaring up until I can get the tooth fixed. I'm no doctor, just a guy who doesn't depend on our medical system for much.. doctor yourself dot com is a great resource as well. We have nearly all the responsibility to take care of our own health. Doctors these days are prescribers of meds using a symptom based template.. the art of medicine is nearly dead. Good luck with the finger

No autoimmune diseases (except Type 2 Diabetes, last A1C just before this C-19 blewup was 6.1). The wife and me both take 1000 mg C daily. I've been taking OTC painkillers for bed backpain for years - as a general rule anything beside the Naproxum doesn't work on me anymore, I only take the Tylenol because I'm also taking my 81 mg asprin when I go to bed (anti-stroke - since I don't bleed). Yes, if I ever have to go in for surgery again, I'm going to ask them to screen me for factor V Leiden.

Same on the C --- 1000 mg. easier on stomach type. 2000 IU D3. Elderberry/zinc. Krill. Ubiquinol. Also Naprox is only OTC that touches my pain. Unfortunately also stomach and colon issues so try to only use it when in real pain. Won't touch Tylenol poison.

Fantastic post Chris and I whole heartedly agree, along with the others who chimed in also. For inflammation I would also add in a big way - Turmeric. It sure works for me. I take it both in capsules and a daily beverage of a shaker bottle of 20 oz. water with Qunol turmeric instant orange drink mix, a packet of Emergen-C, an oz. of apple cider vinegar with mother, ginger and cayenne pepper. I take swigs from it periodically throughout the day. Feel free to throw in other supplements you may like.
Our run in with the local powers is every 3 Saturday in May we have a charity event to raise money for cancer for Darke County, Ohio. This would be year 8 and every year gets better with raised money last year of about 9,000. I organize the bike poker run part of the event every year in conjunction with the Borderline, Greenville, OH which is a out in the woods indoor building on 20 acres where the ride ends and festivities and a great auction and numerous bands take over. Most activities take place outdoors with many picnic tables and chairs. I knew we would have to alter the poker run since bars might still be closed. Then word came from Bud, the owner of the Borderline and main organizer said the health dept. manager had seen our posters and was shutting the whole event down. Bud went round and round with this guy who threatened to be at the Borderline with police to make sure it does not take place. Well needless to say we were outraged. Then word came from Bud a few days ago that he had been in contact with the local Sheriff. The Sheriff told Bud that he would not enforce any orders from the health dept. or anyone else in authority in Greenville, Ohio. So were are back on for this Saturday, weather forecast is high 70s and fair.
Chalk up a victory for the good guys. Do not let these authority powers, governors and such dictate. America wants to get back to work and move on, of course in a safe way and we know how to do this.
