Not that one but I have three similar, but without the brim.  One for me, one for the wife and one for......

I think I got them in 2003 or so when I got my Valk.  But, when I got a BMW 1100RT I went with a 3/4 helmet.

Now I have, for my trips, a Shark Evoline.  So does the wife.

I just saw the date inside my Shark the other day, November 2008.

I’ve heard that before; does anyone know where that statement come from?  DOT? NTSB? Helmet manufacturer??

Just curious where it evolved from.

Yes, regarding the time in years.

Here is one study.

https://www.motorcyclemanic.com/you-need-to-know-now-what-is-a-motorcycle-helmets-lifespan/

And here is another opinion.

https://forums.mtbr.com/apparel-protection/helmet-lifespan-time-dispell-myth-792859.html

In this litigious society, the helmet manufactures must put a life span on the helmets.

In my search, I did not find any definitive tests that would indicate that older helmets were actually tested to see how they did or did not deteriorate.

I did purchase a new helmet, again a Shark Evoline, the same size as the one I had, several years ago (two or three).  It was he same size as the one I was using but, after using it for a few months, I gave it to my wife, and returned to my original Shark.

I like the Shark Evoline helmets. they are versatile but heavy.

I also have a Shark Evoline.  I'll agree they're a bit heavy, but the design is unlike any other helmet.  I really like mine.  They aren't easy to find; I've only seen them on Revzilla and a few other sites.

Haven't we been told that Styrofoam takes hundreds of years to break down?  I am in the group that says helmets will last forever.  Well, until I am trying to justify a new helmet for myself!

I realize I’m rather cheap, but I replace helmets when the liner and padding gets too wore out. You guys with Schuberth’s, Shoei’s, and Arai’s really buy new ones every 5 years ?

I just bought the Schuberth C4Pro with the integrated Sena communicator.  Love it, but no, I would not want to replace every five years.  No helmet is perfect, but this one sure is quiet.
