And everyone else that has kept Kathy in your thoughts.
We have to be at the hospital for 530. She will be processed in and right to pre-op. She meets the anesthesiologist and surgical assistant then they hook her up for surgery. They are planning on wheeling her into surgery at 730. They have said plan on between 6-8 hours. It's a delicate and involved procedure. And of course because of Corona I can't be in the hospital. So I am about to jump out of my skin. Tomorrow is only going to be worse. Enough of my pity party.
Please keep Kathy in your thoughts tomorrow. I will let Chris know and he's agreed to post for me.
Again thanks buddy.

Got a call from Paul at noon that surgery was completed with no complications.  Doctors believe they got everything and no need for future chemo.  She'll be in recovery for a while then home in 3-4 days.

You can all breathe now

Hey everyone. Kathy is recovering on her room. I spoke with her earlier, at least I think it was her. She says her belly feels crampy, really?
This is the best result we could ask for. She will have to maintain the 3 month CT scan schedule for a while but we'll take it.
Thank you again everyone for your care and support. Kathy does love all of you.
So do I.

Glad to hear she is recovering well and that the doctors feel confident. You sound like you kept your sanity through it as well. As much as you had to start with, anyway  Roll Eyes

Another update. Spoke with Kathy this morning. She was feeling pukey and in a bit of pain. She's trying to not use the pain meds unless she has to. Got a call shortly after 3 and with the help of a nurse was able to wash and dress then managed to walk 50 feet around the nurse's station and back to the room. She says she feels ok. Still some pain, ("no way hon, really?")
Things are progressing nicely. She says hi and thank you to everyone for their well wishes.

I just ordered a new pogo stick for Kathy to help in her recovery! Hey! It's not a broom, Paul, but she'll be able to take short flights...

One more update. Sunday was the day. She was able to walk for quite a bit, sat up in a chair most of the day. She was able to walk and use the bathroom without assistance. They let her have soft biscuit and tea.
This morning (Monday June 1st) she sounded like herself on the phone. By 8am she had already walked the length of the floor she's on and used the bathroom by herself. As Chris knows this is key on being able to go home. They stopped the IV pain meds and reduced the hepprin(?) to start getting her blood back to normal. Real food starts tomorrow and if all goes well she may be able to come home Wednesday.
