Hi Gordonv...

Something about the little picture at the bottom of your posts always
catches my eye, I finally clicked on it so I could look at it full size...

You have an Interstate with bags painted like a Tourer... they didn't
really make them like that, did they? I like the Tourer pattern a lot
more than the Interstate pattern...

You are most observant sir, along with the silver on the pods, front fender, and the rest of the bike too.

Try to convince the owner that his black/silver bike is actually a black one that was custom painted by a previous owner.

I suspect that he bought the black IS, but liked the tourer sitting beside it, and had it paint to match the two (IS & T).

I would need to do a side-by-side, but isn't the trunk wrong? It doesn't matter, I like it. It just would have been nice if they duplicated the IS patter instead., because with the T patter on the bags, you wonder if it's all been added onto a T chassis.

If you like the bags, either find someone to trade your's with and then paint them the way you like it. Unless you know Valk, and the bag seams, no one will ever notice but you.  cooldude

What I like it's the two toned radiator "pods".  Every time I've seen that done I've thought it just makes'em look better, somehow.

Me too. I was going to do it to my bike, but this one came that way. I like the front fender too.

It just finishes the bike off. A little of the secondary colour to places that where plan. Not too much. Even a narrow strip on top of the fender would look good too, but the one on mine is see able from the side.

I think the only other body mod will be the wire grill in the pod vents.

Gord, your front fender is the regular scheme for Interstates, except there's no pinstriping? Your trunk however is a bit different I believe... the Silver band is not the same shape or size as OEM (unless the chrome rail is distorting the view). I remember discussions about your bike, whether or not it was an actual Interstate, as it didn't have those welded on vents at the bottom of the front engine guards either rv. Did you ever determine if it was an actual Interstate?  Your bike is also the only Valk I've ever seen with a wood grain dash

Yes, the VIN and CF is there. The bottom scopes on the crash guard have been ground away. I suppose because the T didn't have them, and he was trying to model more like a T.

As I said. It's a black IS.

I suppose I would need to pull the paint code and list the whole VIN plate to 100% confirm, but that is what I remember.
