Author Topic: Need brass bushing for turn signal switch  (Read 1390 times)

I need the brass bushing that goes under the turn signal switch actuator. It is under the washer (circled in red), under the actuator, and above the plate. The actuator slides on top of and around the bushing.

The bushing is not sold invididually. I hate to buy a new (or even used) entire switch. If someone has a damaged switch, I need only the bushing. I was cleaning mine today and did not realize there was a bushing under the actuator. The bushing fell out (I did not realize that at the time) and I cannot find it.

If you have one to sell, great. If someone has a spare that I can borrow (so I can fabricate my own), I will pay for postage and promptly send the original back. Or if someone can even give me measurements?

I really need some help here. What I thought was going to be a simple project now has me grounded.

PM or email me at [my member name] @ either gmail or yahoo [the last character in my name is a zero, not a capital "oh"].

HELP (and TIA).

The good news is I'm back on the road. Managed to improvise with small piece of rubber/plastic hose and a small washer. Works--not too smooth--but works.  Still need a brass bushing.

What would be the ideal dimensions for that bushing, keeping in mind the necessary play for this part?

I'm wondering a bullet casing, split open and made flat. Some other kind of circular punches for the outer/inner diameter.

I wouldn't take the thumb lever assembly apart. You can lube it adequately with the parts intact and without the risk of loosing parts. At the most I just tighten down the screw a smidgen. I've never lost a part.

Your basic "hat section bushing"
I need to check mine, too;   been kind of stiff for  about 10 years now...
