DEAR AMERICA, WE ARE SERIOUS...
THE AMERICAN TRUCKER will not be held hostage, threatened, robbed, or killed. We will not be a victim. We will not be this generation's version of Reginald Denny. Every driver knows that name. Do you?
We will defend ourselves everytime, up to and including, using our 80,000lb trucks and it's 1,800 foot-pounds of torque to run you over.
Cities where looting, rioting, and stopping trucks is happening.... You are hearby put on notice.
Threaten, delay, attempt to stop a truck, we... The American trucker will consider that act as an attack on our lives. We will defend ourselves, our equipment, and our load.
Food, medicine, hospital supplies, gasoline, and a million other daily items we deliver to your cities ARE A-POLITICAL. Everyone needs them, including your dumbass. We don't "need" to come to your lawless city. YOU NEED us to deliver your food and supplies to your city.
We drivers have social media too. If your city becomes too chaotic and violent. Becomes too unsafe for us... Word will spread very quickly amongst the 3.5 million truckers. We will stop delivering to your city. Period. No driver will travel into a city that reminds us of scenes from a "Mad Max" movie.
Threaten an American truck driver while he's working and it will take you, and your city, down a path where YOU WILL LOSE.
Take a moment and seriously think: Do you really want to risk your doctor NOT having the supplies he needs to save you while in surgery? Do you really want to stop the medicines keeping your kids and parents alive?
Keep your silly crap off the US Interstate and US highway system. Congregating in the roadway will only get you run over. Having people standing and blocking the highway is a threat to our physical safety and we will respond appropriately to your attack. Standing in the roadway is NOT a protest. It is an attack on our safety. Air horns will sound, steering wheels will be held tightly, but those brakes will not be touched. You will move, or you will die. 80,000 pounds at 70mph will win every time. STAY OUT OF THE ROADWAY.
In closing: DONT snuggle WITH THE AMERICAN TRUCKER!

The average diesel engine in an 18 wheeler weighs as much or more than the average econo box. I've seen in person what happens when an 18 wheeler and a cage tangle-cage loses Every effin time. And You may take that to the bank. The average empty dry van and tractor near on 30000 pounds-15 tons. BUT I'm afeared most drivers most likely would not run over pedestrians even though they playin the dumb ass. Personally were i still drivin big truck I'd just refuse ANY load to any city with rioting. And I just might be fired But I Would be ALIVE. BUT I duz understand the sentiment. RIDE SAFE.

That would be MN....fairly local fella to me. He was hauling on interstate 35, and the road block was reported to have been been put up behind him. He was unaware that they were going to shut down the highway, and did all he could not to hit those protesting. Sadly, he did not have an escort through that, and was ripped from his cab. Haven’t seen it personally, but apparently there has been an apology issued to that trucker by the governor...sad state of affairs here in MN.

Protesters pulled him from the cab and started street justice until other nonviolent protesters stepped to protect the driver until police arrived and took him into custody. Unfortunately the protesters that saved that driver from being beaten to death got pepper sprayed. Arriving police didn’t have time to sort the good actors from the bad.

Most grocery stores git deliveries J I T. Just in time. Member not all that long ago toilet paper wuz cursed difficult to come by. Actually And I've mentioned this before only ONE segment of truckers need stop pickups and deliveries. Fuel trucks stop and in less than a week mayhaps sooner EVERYTHING stops. When I was still over the road I needed 100-125 Gallons of diesel every day while rolling. Or in the case of carrying 300 gallons on the truck a Complete fillup every other day. Yeah-yer doin the math right-bout 5 M P G long as I wasn't buckin a head wind or hammerin down. The absolute best i ever returned was a bit over 10 M P G But i was down hill and empty and had adjusted the fifth wheel so the nose of the trailer was well covered by the air wing(s) of the tractor. Once loaded and fifth wheel readjusted for the load bout 5 M P G or so. Sooo Too sum up-fuel trucks stop AMERICA stops-Period. RIDE SAFE.

Been to stores like Wal-mart, Lowes, and grocery stores where they have cart corrals in the parking lot. Usually a sign saying "We are not responsible for damage caused by carts".
Truckers should have a similar sign on the front. "Not responsible for crushed looters, rioters and idiots standing in the highway". That would be a fair warning to get outs of the way.

No matter how much we like it or don't it's a long uphill battle for any motorized vehicle operator to be found not at fault in a collision with a pedestrian.

When I was still Ridin long distance most times going to Inzane we left from my Brothers house in Il. which entailed me passing thru or very near St. Louis. After the chit in Ferguson when on Phatt Ghurl-blocked highways-I Totally Avoided the St. Louis metroplex. Should this crap Still be goin on I WILL avoid the St, Louis metroplex while traveling in my cage. I believe it's only 50 60 miles longer going around and lots Less traffic. Bring on the scoops!
