How come you weren't shocked by the 5 police officers shot? Or the 2 police officers run over by vehicles? Or the 6 police officers beaten up?
I know I am.
it doesn't fit the lefts agenda

response from another tyrant governor who has shut down the state no large gatherings until the protestors are out http://www.shorenewsnetwork.com/2020/06/03/phil-murphy-bloodied-asbury-park-police-officer-just-nicked-up-during-peaceful-protest/?utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook.page&utm_campaign=postfity&utm_content=postfity7d0dbThree police officers were injured in Asbury Park this week during Black Lives Matter protesting, but a few ‘nicked up’ cops doesn’t change the narrative given on Tuesday by Governor Phil Murphy. Murphy, who has been forcing businesses to close and dictating that businesses and residents on New Jersey who violate his executive orders be charged, has a much different tone when it comes to some of the violent protests around New Jersey. In a graphic photo published by NJ.com, one officer is pulled by fellow officers with his face covered in blood. Click this link to see the full photo by NJ.com. “I think in New Jersey right now, with a few exceptions, and believe me, there have been a few exceptions,” Murphy said. “I don’t want to make light of that. You know, you hear about three police officers get nicked up, including a severe concussion in Asbury Park as an example. But the unity has been in peaceful protests, for my taste, and we’ve seen a lot of it. It’s an overwhelming sense right now. But with 21 protests today, as Pat reminds me and Gurbir reminds me, we got to make sure, we have to continue to bat 1,000 or as close to it, but it’s an exceptional human behavior both at the individual level, as well as at the community level.” Related News: Phil Murphy Continues to Ignore Small Businesses In New Jersey in Daily Briefing Murphy who has opened the flood gates for massive protests statewide still refuses to open the flood gates for small businesses. This week he announced some small businesses can open June 15th. Nail salons and barbers shops can open June 22nd, but gyms, fitness centers and other industries have been given no date yet for reopening.

I'm aghast of seeing this image. For snuggles sake, could be my daughter coming back from buying groceries. This was in La Mesa, a community of San Diego.. The girl's parents are suing the cops, I think a rubber bullet lodged in her forehead. My daughter is up in Orange County and was thinking of going to one of the protests.. hopefully my words were enough to keep her away from the insanity.

I've seen references to this particular image having been taken in about a dozen different locales, but pretty sure it was here in Dallas. Note the state of Texas on the officer's arm patch. Sad it happened to her, but once the "peaceful protesters" turned the streets into a war zone, unfortunately there will be collateral damage. This is 100% on the "protesters".

Ah... good to know, we can't get reliable info from any media sources, though the incident in SD did happen.. I haven't looked too closely at it, I trust local news as much as national.. which means ZERO

You're making the mistake(an obvious one to boot) of comparing 1st amendment rights to the action taken by the authorities in response to the rioters and looters. That doesn't come under the 1st amendment and to even foolishly approach it from that angle is so pathetic it's almost humorous. You break the law, you're going to be handled as a criminal. Very simple philosophy. Nowhere have I seen a peaceful protest handled in the same manner as those little darlings you think have had their 1st amendment rights stepped on while in the midst of tearing up and stealing property. Let's put it in a more personal light. Suppose we have a disagreement and openly discuss it face to face. I listen to your side and either try to explain the issue involved, or possibly admit what I did was wrong and assure you I'll do my best to correct it for the future. At that point, we're in effect still expressing ourselves under the 1st. But let's take it one step further and assume that even though you agree with my earlier offering and taking responsibility for what happened, you're not satisfied because there wasn't any immediate benefit flowing in your direction. With that thought boiling over in your mind, you decide to go over and kick over my bike and run a knife through the leather seat. At that point all bets are off. I'll call you on it, get in your face and if need be drop you like an ugly girlfriend if you don't cease your actions and attempt to continue. The point is quite simple and obviously missed; you have the right to express yourself under the 1st if done within the confines of the law. You DON'T have the right to ruin lives and property just because you disagree....that isn't protected by the 1st. You have foolishly compared the police/military action to that of a 3rd world dictatorship. There is no comparison, yet you blindly take that into the balance when it doesn't apply. Plus, as you well know, the majority of the looting, etc., are done by those often paid to do so and they could care less what the peaceful protesters issues are. You need to open your eyes young man, they've apparently been closed for some time....it shows!

With all due respect, John (and really mean it!), you couldn't possible know what is the experience to grown up under a military dictatorship. What you (and I believe, most of the forum members) may be unaware is that people born in the USA are extremely privileged in been born in the oldest modern and more mature democracy in the world. The USA, even with its failings, is a first world nation and used to have transparency and functional public institutions. What you may perceive as normal (reporters being arrested on live TV), may be perceived as a serious warning sign to me. Another thing: your own perception of what is a '3rd world' nation may be warped. I've met with people living in the middle of the Amazonian rain forest and they live happier and more meaningful lives than you would expect. As a matter of fact, they probably also have a way healthier diet than the majority of lower income (< 30K/year) people living in the US. The low life expectancy is probably due to lack of access to proper health care, education and crime (sorry, don't have data ready to prove this). My point is: what you may take as granted (freedom of speech, access to guns) are in reality, really *precious* and should be guarded by anyone that calls the USA home. My liberal friends think I'm crazy because I like guns. And my conservative friends think I'm communist because I oppose Trump. Go figure.

I have never taken these things for granted. It has been ingrained in me, by life, experiences, that they are precious and must be guarded and fought for each and every day. For the lost of either will not bode well for the country.
The second is under assault daily by those who would wish to enslave this country to their way of thinking. The first has been abused by many even today we see fake news, edited tapes, slanted stores meant to either inflame or to subjugate. We actually see it here on this forum.
People drop "news stories" to inflame some. I will admit that I have posted at least one story that was not true. I since check and double check what I might post as "truth".
And there are times when, like now I post opinions. Mine. Because of the first amendment. I stand ready to be corrected when in error. I have no agenda except that I believe that the United States is under assault from within and from abroad. The riots show us this.
I don't mind that you don't like President Trump, as long as you agree he is the President of the United States of America and deserves to have the support of us all to keep this country moving.
If you don't like the current President, you have the opportunity, every four years, to change that or try. And if you don't like you congressman or senator, you have the same option every two or six years.

Re. your first statement, obviously I'm not aware on a first person basis. However, I'm a rather well educated person, I can and have read, watched videos of activities from such locales, etc. Granted, it's not the same as "being there" but does give one some insight into the daily lives of those unfortunate citizens. As for the second comment, you can't be serious! We're well aware of our fortune of being born in the USA and all the privileges of natural citizenship. Why do you think(in reference to the VRCC) we as a body get so irritated by the double standard of various state governments re. illegal immigrants for example....California being a prime example. We get upset when the Washington ne'er-do-wells pull the crap they have on a near daily basis trying to oust Trump, rather than work with the man and his staff to do something worthwhile. As a body, we could go on and on but I think you get the point; we very well do know how fortunate we are. We'll never agree 100% on most anything, just don't as a governing body say one thing and go behind our backs and do the opposite and in the process break the law and try to cover it up. The last administration has a list that falls into that category and fills more than a single page. That's what pisses us off because if we...normal citizens...did such things we'd never see the light of day. Yet through it all, knowing we as a country aren't perfect, still have the best thing going and we DO know it!

Yup, although if I didn't think the commies would undermine and overthrow Bolsonaro I'd be brushing up on my Portuguese as a back up. I fear if Biden actually wins, we'll need someone like Pinochet to clean up the mess he'll make...

Serk: you are a smart man, I hope you speak with a tongue-in-cheek. :-) Concerning Bolsonaro: he is a professional politician (i.e. 30 years in the house of representatives) that is neck deep involved with organized crime in Rio de Janeiro. He had a short career as a military man, achieved the position of Captain, was discharged after plotting a terrorist attack in an army base (kid you not!). He got elected president with a speech of being an outsider, promising law and order and end of corruption. Sounds familiar? Aside being utterly corrupt and incompetent, he fired the Federal Police director in Rio, trying to stop an investigation on his son involving bribes and mafia. His son apparently was close with a corrupt cop that murdered an elected representative that was investigating... organized crime in Rio. Recently, he is flirting with nazi/fascist ideals and propaganda (yeah... insane) and openly talking about a military coup and disassembling the supreme court and the congress. If the dictatorship in Brazil was bad, in Chile was even worst. To the extend that Chileans would escape from Chile pursuing basic freedom towards... Brazil! In my first year at the university, my roommate was born in Brazil, but his parents escaped from Chile, leaving Santiago and settling in Sao Paulo. He mentioned that his parents didn't like to talk much about the past, but they lost family killed by Pinochet's minions. In any dictatorship, there is no: a) Freedom of speech/press. b) Access to guns. c) Due process. d) Transparency. That all leads to rampant corruption and a disfunctional society.

The Bolsonaro comment was indeed tongue in cheek. Besides, I know too much Spanish to learn Portuguese, they're too similar, I'd keep bungling it up. When there's a boot on your throat, it doesn't really matter if it's a left boot or a right boot.
The Pinochet comment was serious, but not in a "I sure hope this happens!" sense, but in a "This is where I fear we'll go" sense.
Allende and his policies were so destructive and disastrous to Chile and her people, it took someone like Pinochet to undo the damage, as ugly as his techniques were, they worked.
And as far to the extreme left as the modern US Democrat party has shifted, if they're given the reins of power, it will take someone like Pinochet and his fleet of helicopters to clean this nation up and bring us back up from the destruction they will inflict.
Just like it's taken someone as ridiculous as Trump to try to undo the harm Obama inflicted on us, the Democrat party has shifted so much further to the left from the already extreme leftist policies of the Obama era that if they take over now, it would take someone that makes Trump seem like a soft spoken Harvard history professor to undo the damage they'd cause.

Fresh Grilled Seafood every night. Town of 2000 people that has 50 coffee/pastry shops and another 50 restaurants. Plus the roads, could only dream of having a bike on the roads there. Their little town to town roads put the Dragon to sham winding through the windmills.

There is definitely a problem with militarized police in this nation, but race isn't the central pillar of that problem.
I believe we both agree that, given the taxes paid, we should have a better trained and more accountable police. Not to worry. There is a push to defund Police or even eliminate them. That'll fix everything.

Every night people loot and riot, ...protests and looting occurring nightly across America are being followed by ... volunteers swooping in to clean up the garbage, debris and graffiti and then other people emerge to sweep up their messes. So the plan is to cut the police force. The cleaners probably feel good about sweeping, but they need to fix the signs, replace the windows and rebuild the burned out buildings too... Don't forget to vote... What a swell place San Francisco could be (was)... -Mike "I visited New Orleans before they trashed all the Confederate statues too "

Just saw this (a 75 years old granpa been pushed by the police, hit his head on the ground cracking his skull): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kGsqg5vtahAAnyone here think this was necessary? In my personal view: we pay for a Switzerland type of police and receive a South America kind of service. The problem is not lacking of resources for founding the police. It is bad training and lack of accountability in my personal view.

I just saw that. Totally uncalled for. The big problem these days is the type of person that they are hiring for police. They look for people who will obey and not question it seems. Common sense is gone.
This is not just an USA problem. It seems indicative all around the world

I see a sad, unforseen consequence of the man being pushed backward and the resulting awkward fall and head smack was not anticipated by the officer. It was not a particularly brutal shove, IMHO. In hindsight maybe they should have just sidestepped the guy. Or were they supposed to stop in their tracks and discuss policy with him until he was satisfied? Looks kinda crazy out there. Maybe it's a good time to stay out of police officers' faces. Just sayin'.

Lets see, I am 70 plus years old. I have interacted with someone who was a policeman (or Shore Patrol), in this 70 plus years maybe five times. Why is that. I know, its because..... fill in the blank.
I have traveled into every state except Alaska, I have visited a few European countries as part of my six years in the US Navy.
To tar and feather (to use a common term) a whole profession, by the actions of a very few is not only unconscionable but entirely idiotic.
But, I believe there is a more heinous plan by those posting the video.

Sorry the elderly man was injured but why was he approaching the officers? The one that pushed him with one hand I might add didnt grab him and throw him to the ground also the man was reaching to his arm on the the video. #1 rule would be dont touch an officer especially one in riot gear.

Simple way to avoid injury: don't be there. Yes, I feel bad he got injured, but you put yourself in that situation, you have to assume something will happen. I read some of his posts online, he's kind of an asshole.

Just saw this (a 75 years old granpa been pushed by the police, hit his head on the ground cracking his skull): ... Anyone here think this was necessary? ... Yes. He was intentionally blocking the way of the advancing police line. He was lightly pushed out of the way. He stumbled and fell on his own. One of the policemen started to aid the man but his commander told hime to move on while the commander called for medical aid. Grandpa? Cracking his skull? A bit of extra editorializing?

Yes I agreed. I think its called string the pot. By posting and editorializing on the event in the manner it was portrayed and those posting the link and the initial comments, that is the intent. We only have the part that was posted. And it was posted for only one reason.

The stupid grandpa should have been home with his grandchildren making a good impression on them. But instead thought he could take on a whole herd of officers in riot gear. Why do some feel the need to stand up for these idiots? There is an easy solution to all of this. If you dont want your skull cracked stay at home. I'm all for peaceful protesting. But almost every protest hast turned into a riot and not from the police doings. They have gotten away with far more than anyone should. Any rioter that gets hurt i have no sympathy for.

Hmmm. I sure don't condone police brutality but... Watched it three times, just don't see the brutality there. "Or were they supposed to stop in their tracks and discuss policy with him until he was satisfied?" YES, and handed him some Savago peace flowers and a benjamin.

I peacefully protested a few times 50 years ago.
The last time, two opportunists decided to smash a jewelry store window and grab and run.
A line of horse mounted policemen charged toward the thugs, and I got ran over and stepped on by a horse. I was badly bruised but not broken. The guy didn't try to run me over, but there I was doing my best to get out of the way, but there were too many humans blocking my exit. After long and careful thought, I decided the only one at fault was me. Our cause was righteous. The policeman did the best job they could. But in such circumstances.... Sh!t Happens.
I concluded large crowds of humans are NEVER a good place to be. Especially if there are large crowds of policeman there too. If you put yourself in the mix, sh!t may happen, and you assume the risk.
As for huge, burning, assaulting, looting riots. After a warning, the cops should shoot them down and then stack their bodies in front of the remaining business as protection against further looting.

Jess, I respect your opinion and our anger. Burning and looting are wrong. The perps need to be held and sentenced. It just seems to me that a lot of us move very quickly to the shoot to kill and stack their bodies. My guess is that most if not all of the ones calling for such have never pulled a trigger pointing at center mass and watched someone go down. Where do we draw the line. I just hope they never set that line at ten miles over the PRV. I do think lawbreakers should be met with necessary force. I'm just not certain I want to turn our public servants into execution squads. It could result in a uniformed man standing on someone's neck.

While I salute the gesture they made, they didn't quit their jobs, just resigned from their extra duties as members of the Buffalo Police Emergency Response team.... (I.E. The riot squad.) ...sure hope Buffalo doesn't have any more riots with no riot police anymore.....

It is worse in china There, the military comes And they take the local police and army and ship in army from 3000 miles away They are scared and shoot first and dont even speak the local language HERE we have local police, with ties to the communities The whole idea of one race is screaming is not exactly true Because the outsiders, well organized are stirring the pot with the help of the media The globalist agenda is just one more long view parasitic virus, like communism, like islamic jihad, We have a constitutional republic, job one is keeping it safe. We keep it safe we will be safe We pander to only one group we are less safe I post this link, the language is raw, the message is clear, I support the message https://www.facebook.com/TheBlaze/videos/253796029289673/

Talk at my local bar tonight about the scheduled protest happening tomorrow, Saturday afternoon. Organised by a local white, female, liberal, realtor. Some are going in support with their families including children. Why would you do that???
