Nascar says it will no longer be allowed at any of its events. It seems Bubba Wallace, Nascars only black driver currently called for the action while he runs a car with a black lives matters paint scheme.

Time marches on and the double standards just keep increasing. I’m not a supporter of the Confederate flag to induce conflict among people but at the same time it is an expression of free speech that I do support.

I think for once we need to take a lesson from the Brits.

London Police Warn Of "Perfect Storm" As Right Wing Groups Vow To Defend Statues From BLM

London Metropolitan police are preparing for clashes between black lives matter activists and right wing groups this weekend in London, following a call by Tommy Robinson for counter-protests to defend memorials and statues.

If the media won’t spread these videos, we will.

Anti-British thugs spitting on the memory of veterans that sacrificed themselves for our country. A day after D-Day. This has nothing to do with racism or police brutality, how long will our weak Government tolerate it?

And then there is this. Saw it on Fox News this morning, anyone see it on any other network?

In this country, ignorance abounds. The flag they banned is not the Confederate flag. It never flew over the Confederate States of America. That banned flag is the battle flag of the Army of Tennessee during the war of northern aggression.

The one below is the flag that flew over slavery and was displayed on ships trading in slavery in Africa for around 90 yrs. Soon to be retired.

Well it’s private property, they can make any rule they want. NASCAR seems to be a dying a slow death anyway, nothing what it was in the ‘80’s, ‘90’s early 2000’s.

Personally, I have no deep thoughts on the flag or the subject, the flag never bothered me and I never read anything nefarious into it. I lost real interest in NASCAR over 15 years ago, was once a diehard fan, attended at least 2-3 races a year and watched almost every race for I don’t remember how long.

Banning of any flag doesn't bother me either, but all of a sudden they claim to avoid controversy and choosing to promote hate by supporting BLM, a controversial Marxist organization.

If you support taking over ownership of your property, guaranteed income for all, factories and jobs solely run by government, and higher taxes to pay rent for people you don't know, then support nascar and their sponsors.

Just another nail in the coffin of Nascar. I quit going years ago when the $49 dollar motels started charging $250 when Nascar was in town $6 bottle water $7 slice of pizza. Everything they do just slowly kills them.

A quick perusal on the internet showed multiple places selling Confederate Flags. While it showed amazon having Confederate Flags they did Not have them and I had quickly scanned 2 or 3 pages. But as I stated the C F Are available from other vendors. I personally intend to order a Good Outdoor Confederate Flag. And mount it to the front of my Casa during daylight hours. My silent form of protest and I have NO/NONE/NADA plans to loot and burn nor kill anyone. RIDE SAFE.

I love auto racing but I'm not a big NASCAR fan.  The endless wrecks and caution periods really detract from the racing.  But I give them a lot of credit for putting on live races during the near-peak C19 times.  No other major sport pulled off what they did.

It seems like NASCAR has usually steered clear of political issues.  Maybe they thought taking a stand on this issue would buy them protection from the far left on other other issues.  I think they're going to be surprised.

Personally fine with me can live without both of them.   IF enough of us ban seeing both in person and on TV and spend nothing on both,  see where they end up - GONE for good!   cooldude

then see where all those black lives matter go once the NFL is gone?

Well with only Ford, Chevy and Toyota in the series, I’m happy to see 43 on a Chevy. As far as the Petty family is concerned, I’m sure their sponsors had something to do with the BLM paint scheme. And to your original point, what happened to Petty Blue?

Nothing was "banned."  If it had been "banned" it would be a crime to own or display it.  It would not be available for purchase, etc.  You can still fly whatever flag you wish on your property, just as any organization or individual can choose not to fly it on theirs.

Also, I fail to se how this issue has any impact on NASCAR.  Last I checked, A race car does not require a flag of any kind to go fast.

Ban them all. And be done with it. Then they can move on to find something else to get their panties in a wad.

Pathetic.

You know, thats a good point.  I'd rather see that number on a Chevy rather than a toyota. [ toyota should not be allowed to compete, show me a pushrod engine they sell to the public]. I'd still like to see Chrysler come back in. But, I now feel feel about the same toward them as I do the nfl.

The impact on Nascar is that it is Nascars ban! The President of Nascar had the entire field of cars stopped while they were on the track getting ready to start the race. That’s when he made the announcement. If you had read the whole thread more closely this would have been obvious to you.

Maybe you just don’t agree with the term banned that I used. I’m sure you can google his statement about the flag in question and provide a better word.

Part of NASCAR is a giant in-field event, people who show up the day before in
their RVs and stuff... Confederate flags are everywhere. They've had them "banned"
for a while, but they've still been there. What is banned is any Confederate stuff
among what is being vended on site, and no Confederate symbols on cars. They
refused to let the Sons Of Confederate Veterans sponsor a car a few years ago.
They use their pull to get any Confederate messages removed from the main
roads leading to NASCAR events. They got this pulled down the road from the
Darlington track a few years ago:

But... we'd paid for it, our lawyers made them put it back up the day before the race  cooldude

What series engine would that be ?
Both the UR and I-Force are DOHC engines. [I used to own a Tundra, Land Cruiser, Highlander, never again.]
I see Toyota is supposedly coming out with a 5.9L pushrod engine.

As far as I know Toyota never offered to the public a 5.7L [ 355 cu in] pushrod  engine as is supposedly required by NASCAR. So if they do make one I'd like to know which series it is. No one else I've talked to knows. If they do offer one to the public then I guess they are not cheating.
