I really love mine, its a great bike does Just about everything well and to me is comfortable. It was not that way when I bought it, but through tinkering and add ons, I can truly say that I can let it sit for days or if I get the itch take it cross country. I have never had confidence in a bike like I have in this one. It can sit or ride and I dont worry about letting me down and do not worry about any situation I get into on the road. I have never felt wanting in any area or situation when riding.
Like any bike though you live with there is always some compromise.
The bars are an issue, as is the seat for some, not getting the factory size tire for the front bothers some people. Other than that its a great bike. You can adjust the bars and Bscrive actually made risers and put longer cables on his and is very happy with the bike also. He also modified some OEM mounts and put on some Champion bags and it looks pretty good. I rotated the Handle bar slightly and put more cushioned grips on the hand grips by using tennis racket tape. I have also moved the grips out on the handle bar about 1/4 to 1/2 inch to accommodate aftermarket grips. The throttle lock I put on for longer trips makes resting your hand a real blessing. On no other bike have I felt the need to release the throttle for a bit except on this bike.
The stock seat is torture, and with no bags and no one except Honda and Corbin making bags, so you are forced to adapt something that fits. There are no mods except some chrome and cowl lights, cruise control and windshield either. There is throttle lock or electronic cruise and forget adding any more power.
I am truly amazed at the amount of ground you cover with this bike and how quickly it does it also. If you want a wing without the weight and without all the plastic this is the bike. I found it to be easily maneuverable once you get used to it. It is quick enough for 99 percent of situations, has 100 amp alternator so battery is never a problem and has a proven history. One member did the aftermarket shocks on his and it did not make for to much of a difference.
I actually wanted this exactly the way I bought it. I purchased it new with the only add ons being The Corbin bags, windshield and Corbin seat.
I cannot say enough good things about this bike, it can really cruise, people always compliment me on the bike and to me once I got used to it, I love it. I like my OEM windshield and when it gets cold out the only wind comes from the front between the radiator covers over the top of the tank. Its also this that makes a little buffering of a helmet. But mount the windshield right and the helmet buffering goes away.
Maintenance is a breeze and get the engine cover that goes on the bottom of the bike from the wing. Its cheap and will keep the lower innards of the bike clean and also being vented helps keep the air flowing away from the driver. It does really well in the rain, much confidence and does not feel shaky at any speed. The heat in summer is not a problem since it goes around the driver. Over the 1500 the heat is like night and day, you feel no heat from the engine at all. When stopped the and the fans for the radiator go on they vent forward so no heat blows on the rider or passenger and the fans turn off at 19 MPH.
When you drive it for the first few times watch your speed, it so smooth that you will be surprised at how fast you are going and it takes a bit of getting used to. I have never felt shaky at any speed on this bike and when you zip along at 120 you only hear and feel the wind. Its quite deceiving how fast it gets there also.
Sit on it ride it a bit but take the time with her and she will reward the loyalty. This is just one of those bikes that you grow into and sometimes may not make the best first impression, but after some changes and time you be glad you own one.
