Anyone notice like I have the the younger fellow employees at work are scared of their own shadow now.   This face mask, sterilize the entire building is out of control.  Installing dividers and foot pulls for the doors. I am soon to be 59 and certainly way higher risk then them.  uglystupid2

Agreed Jerry. Couple weeks back I went in the post office after hours but the lobby was still open, I was the only person in the place just mailing a small package. I heard the door start to open then quickly close, looked out and some guy maybe in his 30s with a mask on is waiting outside for me to finish. Really? Nobody else in the place. As I walked out, he stepped way off to the side and I noticed he had rubber gloves on as well. Soon as I got past him he darted inside but as I walked to my car this big scruffy dude in a jacked up pickup came walking by. I laughed and told him he's about to scare the crap out of Mr. Milktoast inside. He just laughed and sure enough, soon as he walked in out comes the other guy on the fly. Don't know what's wrong with people, the New England Journal of Medicine says the huge majority of face masks people are wearing are useless against the virus, the N95 is about the only effective one out there. Even surgical masks don't cut it I'm told. Oh well, I only wear it if I go in a store that requires it and they still fuss at me for taking it off immediately after I go through checkout.

I have lone joggers through the neighborhood, wearing masks.

Like I would be sucking big air through a wet mask while running... by myself, alone. (not that I jog anymore)

I'm not sure if it's full Bozo, Howdy Doody, or Elmer Fudd.

And the mask on in their own car while alone.  That is full Bozo. Maybe we need a new icon, a clown.

My daughter is a little skittish about going out.  She ONLY goes out when absolutely necessary.  My son is also, but only when we ask him to run an errand or pick something up for us.  But he RAN out to be the first one to get a haircut this weekend and he's been going out once or twice a week this month to meet a special someone.  He's too funny.

I work at a rest area by the interstate here for something to do since I retired.  I don't wear a mask, most of the old folks that come through don't most of the young folks do.  They'll even walk around me and give me a wide berth when I'm disinfecting the lobby.  I spend all day disinfecting doors, counters and toilets.  It's probably one of the cleanest places in the state.  I also have quite a few young folks come in wearing mask and gloves.

My son was at the post office the other day and he said a guy came in wearing what looked like a lab coat, rubber gloves and was wearing a bee keeper hat - you know the one with the net around it.  He was staying so far back you couldn't tell what line he was in and when somebody tried to walk around him, he held out his arm as if to say no one is allowed to go around him.  My son walked around him anyway and just gave him a dirty look and the rest of the people in line started giggling.  My son said it was entertaining though watching him fumbling around with his mail with the rubber gloves on.  If not the full bozo, I'd say he was in the top two.

For what it's worth, we're being told that old people are the most vulnerable, and the masks are not to protect us, but to protect others.

So I wear a mask while out in public indoors, as a courtesy to others (And also as I respect private property rights, and most businesses have signs up requesting they be worn), and I give obviously older folks a wide berth, as a sign of respect and because they're the ones that would most likely to be lost should they get it.

Couple weeks back I had a 6 mo. follow-up appt. with the radiation/oncologist following the completion of radiation. When I walked in this little honey at the door stopped me and gave the once over about who I had been around, did they have the bug(how am I supposed to know that), been out of the country, do I have any aches...pains...shortness of breath, etc.  I told her "lady, I'm 82 yrs. old, that's a normal day for me."  She just handed me a mask, took my temp and told me to GO! The check-in gals were all giggling when I walked up, they all remembered me but I had never seen the little gal at the door.  Grin

I won't wear a mask unless I can't go into a business without it. "We request ... " is not good enough.

I'm with Serk here.

And kinda amazed at you guys!

How do you know "Mr. Milktoast" or the "beekeeper" guy didn't have a compromised immune system and HAD TO go way above to protect themselves?

I suppose we can put it off on everybody getting a bit fed-up and stir-crazy with all this.

Look , I'm not going out in public KNOWING I'm sick (and I have a very accurate way to tell - my glucose goes up when I'm sick). It's already been discussed ad nausium that masks are for the sick to prevent spreading it to others - not to protect you from getting it. On the social distancing - I get and follow that (generally). I'm pretty good about personal sanitation. I go out only when I need to get something (with the exception of wind therapy - and there we are socially distanced by preference). I don't really know what else I could do...

And yes  - I'm fed up with the over-caution / overblown warnings. I'm going to live life.

I will have the mask all day at work when with others as it is a requirement - I will also when required when out.  I was talking about the young ones here at work and that they are way freaked out. I agree lets be mindful of others.

will get real interesting for me and my co-worker come mid July when all back in the offices.  they want or should say require to wear face mask even at our office desk over 6 feet apart.  I will refuse and so will my older, more stubborn co-worker claiming 'can't breath'.  I will wear mask if away from my desk no problems since more apt to get into someone close by less than 6 feet but NEVER alone at my desk.

will see what happens in 1 month??

The real problem is that if you work inside a conditioned air building or go into one there is a good chance that if someone did in fact bring the virus in with them it will get recirculated over the whole building.

.    Roll Eyes  Our foggers are on the way.  I will have to shut off each air handler and take out one of 12 filters, turn it back on and fog wile the blower motor is running.  I have 7 air handlers.
