This has my attention. I won't be the first to buy one, but I'm definitely gonna keep my eyes open for reviews and info on it.

Sena making Bluetooth modular helmet with integrated sun visor (The very things I look for in a helmet) and the whole thing is under $200?

Has my attention!

Advertising blurb:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98mXhBer4go

And their page about it:

https://www.sena.com/product/outrush

Looks like it just dropped, haven't seen any reviews yet, but definitely worth keeping an eye out for...

Would like to know if road noise and wind noise is gone like in the ad

Especially when the windshield is all the way down on the bmw

Nice price though I would get one for the wife   No need for the intercom   Wish it could hook up so I could use my cb though

Thanks Serk,
I have been needing a new helmet for a while. I'll let you know at Inzane if we like them or not.
At that price with full blutooth and intercom, it is hard to not order it.

I see it has an adjustable boom microphone and that is a huge plus over the schuberth c4 pro with SENA sc1 advanced, x2 helmets his and hers we picked up. What we do like is how it is built in and the battery is huge and removable apart from the brain but the Microphone being fixed and hidden is not the best for clear talk.  Maybe a review is coming?

Per the spousal unit's request I was THIS CLOSE >< to buying one for the triplets to share so I can talk to them while they're riding, but then I think I finally found the gotcha...

Looks like the intercom is only good for 2 units, not the mesh or multi units.

I'd need it to go to 3 helmets (Me, a triplet and Kali), so a 2 way limited unit ain't gonna work for me...

Edit - Reading the FAQ, it implies it can pair with 4 total units, so I'm not sure now, guess I'll wait for a review...

This doesn’t make much sense. The Sena 20s we got years back can intercom with multiple units at the same time. The way they make this sound is you can only talk to one at a time. Doesn’t seem like they’d be going backwards.

Agreed, but the Sena 20s is still $199 on Amazon just for the Bluetooth module, the new item is the Bluetooth and an entire helmet...

So for that pricepoint, there's gotta be a catch. There's always a catch.....

I agree, it's a good price point. And to be honest, the most I've had on the intercom was 3 at a time. Just seems it wouldn't add much except some software. It's time for a new helmet, and these sound good. I pretty much quit buying them online though, unless I already know the brand's sizing. Maybe CycleGear will sell them.

I checked with the local Cycle Gear store near me and they haven't heard of this yet. Same story with The Helmet Shop in Daytona.
Definitely looks interesting.

For that price I wouldn't expect a premium helmet with a high end integrated headset.  But there are plenty of good helmets at bargain prices from companies like HJC.  And Sena has made some very good inexpensive headsets -- I have an older SMH5 ($91) that has nearly all the features of their more expensive units.

So it could be a good helmet.  And, I've never heard about a bad headset from Sena.  If anyone gets one post a review!

Check out this info under "FAQ" "BLUETOOTH INTERCOM". Does this really mean up to 4 can sync?

Intercom Pairing

Up to three other people can be paired with the helmet for Bluetooth intercom conversations.

mceclip0.png

1. Rotate while pressing the Jog dial clockwise for 5 seconds when the two helmet            (A and B) are turned off. You will hear a voice prompt, “Configuration menu”.

2. Rotate the Jog dial until you hear a voice prompt, “Intercom pairing”.

3. Simply tap the Jog dial of any one of the two helmet A or B and wait until                        the intercom connection is automatically established.

4. Repeat steps 1 and 2 to pair with Intercom Friends C & D.

5. The intercom pairing queue is ‘Last-Come, First-Served’ . If a headset has                      multiple paired headsets for intercom conversations, the last paired headset is set as      first intercom friend . The previous intercom friend becomes second intercom              friend, and third intercom friend .

The helmet design looks kinda like Nolan has something to do with it. Same control for the visor and the helmet looks similar at the rear. No complaints here if that is who is building them.

It actually looks and the description sounds like a couple of BILT helmets I bought last year.  I'm pleased with the helmets and with the SENA functions.  Like others, I didn't understand the limitations of the helmet to helmet talk.  If I remember correctly it will connect to 4 units but one needs to select which one each time one wishes to converse.

After talking with JimC, Barb and I have also ordered these helmets.
Hopefully they will be at our door before Inzane.
We will let you know how good they are.

Some mention  CBS, you will have to add what Rena calls their Freewire.
It will let you use the Bluetooth function  for CB.

I recently bought a Bell Mag 9 which is made for the Sena SMH10 and it's been wonderful.

I bought a set of them and ended up sending them back.
The two helmets would not pair up to each other.

After much back and forth, I even offered to send my Sena unit back and install another myself, and they refused to go along with that.  I ended up sending them back (ON MY DIME) it cost me almost $100 to get rid of them. Never again will I buy a Sena product.

Also, they only go to XL size, and it is small compared to other XL's I have had.

Here is our story on Sena Outrush helmets.
Early June we purchased a large and small (according to their size chart) helmet. Those arrived July 7th. The small was broken ( tab for vent) and the large didn't fit my fat head. We did get a RMA from Sena to return them. The RMA was for an extra large and a small to replace the broken one. It took them a while to send the replacements.
We received them September 29th. They say because of covid and their distribution center moving.
The small helmet was broken in the same place as the first one. The extra large fit like a large. I asked them for replacements for each because I didn't think the extra large was an extra large.
Their response was We are out of stock and it would be 3 weeks until more come from China.
But, they said they were authorized to upgrade us to a 30K-01D (30K) motorcycle bluetooth communication Mesh intercom (dual pack) as a replacement given the exteme delays.
This 30K mesh intercom on their site is $519.00. We paid $200 + tax for each helmet.
So moral of this story is we are getting the 30K Mesh intercom.
Not saying the Outrush helmets are bad, just saying they can keep them.

bummer,  I just read this posting again after recently dropping/and accidentally kicking my BILT modular helmet and a metal screw fell out of which i used a plastic screw same thread from an old helmet I had laying around.  Luckily I did not scratch the plastic clear shield,  just scuffed up the black front of it pretty bad.

It still works but is now about 7 years old and have noticed after inspecting it inside the coatings/materials are coming off from use over the years.  I think I paid 129 for mine and for 199 with bluetooth sounded like a good deal.  Now, I see XL is a close to ONLY large size and my XL bilt modular helmet is a tad bit tight on me in the forehead after 1-2 hours of riding.  Was hoping this SENA would work for 199 but XL probably not fit now.  I have a tough time buying anything online without trying it online since 8 out of 10 will not fit my head probably.

Cycle gear sort of ticked me off though calling them both the store and CAlifornia 1800 number the store gave me and no use they just want to sell me a new helmet over a screw missing and plastic grommet as well.   I guess they cannot get parts for their BILT branded helmets all made in China am sure.
