In the 1500s, before Black Slavery hit America, hell before America was America, my relatives were taken as slaves by the Muslims from Tunisia. I am offended by the proliferation of Mosques in this country and think they should all come down. Also, since the Muslims have been the holders and traders of Black slaves for the longest of any other group of people in this world, the Blacks should join in and help tear down the mosques, burn the Muslim neighborhoods. Where are my Reparations???

Nah, we got over it, so has every other group of people that have ever been enslaved, execpt for one group.

I'm surprised at the number of people that think slavery only existed in this country and are willing to agree about it.

I remember once reading something about some Hebrew slaves.

Slavery existed in many many cultures over the centuries. Waring tribes within the same culture kept others captured in battle as slaves. Slavery was common.

Some think that America has always had slaves. It wasn't always so. The vast majority were indentured servants as most families couldn't afford the cost of passage. So they worked off the debt. Over the centuries indentures have come to be called or thought of as slaves.

There is an interesting court case of a black free land owner sueing a black indenture stating his debt could never be paid off within his lifetime and won. The indenture became the first slave in Va. That trend then spread like wildfire.
