The Interstate hasn't been ridden much lately.  Honestly, it's sat idle for a long time.  It seems whenever I go into the garage the show Valk calls out to me.

Well, I got the Interstate out on the road for awhile.  It seems to ride differently than the other Valkyries.  Same power train; almost the same frame, a little more weight but with the fairing and bags it just feels much bigger, heavier than the stripped Valkyrie.  After a few miles on the Interstate I will easily be able to swap back and forth between the two but at first it just feels different.

With the fairing taking the wind out of my chest she will go as fast as I wish to.  I can go easily and quickly to eighty, ninety or more but I've found we're perfectly comfortable at seventy-five.  I guess age may be finally catching up with me.

Anyone else get a feeling of difference moving from one bike to another?

Yup... My Interstate and my Standard (Tourer) feel like totally different animals... On the off chance I get to ride someone else's bike, even if it's identical to mine on a spec sheet, it often still feels very very different, all the little adjustments, differences in timing, attitude, "spirit", etc make them feel very very different. I can adjust and get used to it, but it's jarring the first couple minutes whenever I switch between my regular one and the one I've been riding less normally...

Yes there is a difference, not a lot but some. Been contemplating selling one since my wife doesn't ride by herself now. When I ride the I/S I think this is the one I would keep, rides great, wind protection and handles well, Then I ride the Std. sportier feel, rides great, gathers more interest at gas stops. Yea this would be the one I would keep. Then I ride the I/S and, never mind I will probably just keep both of them.  cooldude

I bought an IS to replace my first tourer. Rode it a week and resold it. Then I got an 05 wing and still love it. Then for two years I had a ZX1400 Concours. Talk about different. Like having 3 girlfriends. One likes dinner and drinks. The Valk likes beer and shooting pool. I can’t say what that Connie liked best, but I miss it.

Life is really good when you own three.  I have an Interstate, a Tourer and a Standard.  They're all good.  I'm not sure most can tell which is which.

And one for my wife.

I went from an ultra classic to my concours. Picking up a standard Valk next week. Love my Connie but it’s a different ride.
