This Sunday is the Big Texas Toy Run benefiting the children of the DFW Metroplex. Ladybug and I have enjoyed riding several toy runs during the months of November and December and would like our friends of the DFW VRCC to join us in the final ride of this season.
The Big Texas Toy Run will begin, for those wishing to start in Dallas, at the American Airlines Center.
Ladybug and I will be stopping at the Denny's at 2425 WALNUT HILL LN IN DALLAS for breakfast and riding over to the event from there. We will plan on being at the Denny's at 9 for those wishing to join us.
The ride registration is from 10 to 12 and the ride begins at 1, so no hurry on the breakfast. (We might could even make it brunch!)
We always enjoy any opportunity to come over from East Texas and ride with our group, and the weather promises to cooperate on Sunday.
We hope to hear from many of you and see you all Sunday!
For more information on the ride and requirements, go to: http://thebigtexastoyrun.com/flyers/2009-TBTTR-Flyer.pdf

Ride safe fireman. I don't think we are going to ride all the way from Kaufman for breakfast if no one else wants to meet, so we are planning on just going direct to the AA Center for the registration. Maybe we will run into you at Arlington.

I hope to make it but am not sure yet.  If I can, I'll coordinate with you, T-Roy.

You may be kidding, but just to make sure, I'm recalling from previous years that the only prohibited costume for the Toy Ride participants was Santa since there was already one on the trip.  Others, chip in if I'm incorrect.

RM, you're right.  From the website FAQ:

"Why don't you allow anyone dressed as Santa in the Convention Center?

Many of the kids there are sufficiently challenged or just too young to understand more than one Santa. Even the Santas leading two of the parades change before entering. The REAL Santa is there, no need for impostors."

I was at Fort Worth and not only wasit an awesome event but it was an awesome sight to see that many bike at one time coming together for such a worthy cause. It takes a vey special group of people to do the things that bikers do for other people. I have one question though, how can there be over 60,000 bikes but only $48,000.00 at $10.00 per bike? Still $48,000.00 will go a long way to making Christmas special for kids that would not have anything at this time. I feel so blessed to have been part of it, it's been awhile since I have been able to. Thanks and God Bless to all who were able to attend. Billy

I don't know one way or the other, but one thought is that they may be reporting the net amount after expenses? Still does not sound right, does it? ~Jeff

That would be a lot of cost, but who knows. Still $48,000.00 and several truck loads of toys for kids that would not have anything is great and I am proud of being part of a group of people that care enough to do the things they do. Billy
