As you can see, the damage is there. The previous owner used a different screw (looks a bit thicker than OEM) and it was holding OK...but for how long?

Per the RedEye instructions I used the OEM screw and tightened it down until the 3mm space recommendation for it to bottom out and thread/re-thread all the way to the bottom. I plan on using the RedEye SEMS screws and per initial test fit - feels like it may hold alright.

Anything else I can do to make sure it stays secured? A little epoxy once its sitting in place? Anything else?

I think I would put something like silicone lube on the part of the screw that will be exposed. Then build the area up with JB Weld. After it dries there’s a good chance the screw won’t be locked in and you will have new threads. Just make sure no silicone gets on any place you want the JB Weld to stick.

Exactly as Chris described.  I have used this exact method to repair similar damage on these carbs.

Plastex metal repair, they have a web site, there plastic repair kits are good,never used the metal one.
