Process servers can now serve notices in Holdovers but not in rent cases court still closed

Anyway a client bought a 2 family house
The bottom 2 floors are used as a Mosque the top floor residence of the Immam

My client is also a moslem, great fellow as well have known him a good while and we have worked many cases now over the years

Don't judge a book by its cover unless it is wearing a mask

The prior lawyers lost the eviction cases, all of them.

The law requires that I had to prepare 90 day notices to quit for each of the 3 floors, even though no landlord tenant relationship, listing everyone involved with the Mosque, its proper names (as per NYS Sect of State) and john does and jane does  (10 of those)

Care to hazard a guess how many sheets of paper I delivered to the process server today for the 45 notices for each floor?

I will say at the bottom

By the way, the mosque was foreclosed out back in 2015  so the mosque has paid zip since at least 2013

Not to brag but I will win.  It may take a year or more but client is not worried nor am I.  Slow and steady (like I ride lol) gets to the end  No shortcuts to stumble over

But when it is time to file the case (if the court ever opens) there will be at least 6 extra pages in each set served

The answer is

2349 pages  !

Plus I have to send two complete sets for each apt to NYS Sect of State for alternate service on the mosque under religious corp law

killing a few trees I see with all those pages.

I too kill trees about same amount of pages printed out weekly at work.

printer paper will eventually go mostly away if our company, and others, get out of the dark ages of the 1980s systems and modernize their computer systems.

Kinda, sorta related...

[rant]
LuLu's rental house squatter situation is not resolved. Guy was never on lease, he stayed after his GF died. He claims she is harassing him by going there to stain the deck. He films her when she goes there.
Today is the first day for official posting eviction notices, but the courts are still not open and will not hear the cases. He's getting a free ride.  uglystupid2  Your tax dollars at work.
POS squatter has been trashing her house, which was in beautiful condition,  and is calling her a slum lord in order to eventually gain sympathy from the courts when they open. In his mind, he is entitled to her property because he refuses to work and his son has ADD. Her loss of income (and sleep) over this BS has been pretty traumatic.

OK, back to the tree murderers...  Shocked

The paper is from trees grown for this product.   No old growth forest are cut to make paper.   So all is good.   I probably am responsible for more tree deaths than all of those on this board.  But then where the deadly event occurred is now a now young healthy forest.   cooldude

Oss, that is sure a lot of paper just to clear up a problem.  Thought we were going to a paperless society.

Our corporate slogan back in 1982:  Paper Free By '83!

We didn't make it.  I use more paper today that ever.
But at least after 7 years of holding the old files I can add them to my annual bonfire.

I feel your pain Oss.
