2014 Valkyrie 1800

Seminole, Florida

« on: June 28, 2020, 09:31:50 AM »

I was supposed to ride to Wesley Chappell Honda (Powersport's) and look at/ride an 1800 Valkyrie yesterday after our morning ride. When we left the Newport Richie Police event it was Africa Hot and I blew it off knowing they are one of the just a few motorcycle dealers open on Sunday.
Leaving this morning with the wife's blessings on a new bike and decided to call as It was no longer listed in their inventory... Gone, sold to a cash buyer yesterday. Oh well even though it sold for $7600 bucks which is a steal especially from a stealer there are two more available in Florida I'm interested in. One is a 2014 and one is a 2015 both under 5k miles and both at $9,999.00 That's $500 over full retail but the clean low miles ones disappear before I can get to them.
I was not a fan at all when they were first released, now especially after seeing the 2015 Red I'm salivating. Nothing else will do, no other color or year. Then seeing the new member purchase in the General board by TJEli...jump started my love for that bike again. Now it's just a waiting game to find the right one, I'm committed.

That's funny, and true. Just took the lid off the Webber and got that hot blast of air that fogs your glasses and melts your lungs, like Florida riding. I wear a full face, Can't wait for winter so we can ride in comfort!

I'm totally with you mate!
I've been searching for one for about a year and all I can find within reasonable distance in Canada are blue ones. Now some folks may like blue but mine HAS to be black (with red as a backup!).
I've been salivating over bscrive's, but I think he'll take that one to the grave.

.  I would always go for the blue with the blacked out bits and find a painter for the fenders and tank.

Hope the tires are up to the task Doug.  You know those Gold Wings are subject to stop at most any ice cream shop.

Ah, silly me. I got it now. I was looking at that beautiful 2015 red one and got confused.
That red one sure is a beaut.
I had thought about a paint job, but to be honest, I'm not so confident about going through that process. I've heard that removing the plastic is a pain, and I wouldn't want to lose any of our short riding season as here in Ottawa I basically lose access to my bike for months during the winter.
Still, I'll bear it in mind if the right one comes up.
