Hi Everyone,
Happy 4th, well I took the carbs apart about a month ago, changed the intake O'rings only, start having a little leak on carb #2, had her sitting for about 1 week and half, went to start her yesterday, after a little hesitation she started, let her warm up a little I notice a little fuel on the floor, upon inspection I found the left side DRIP DRIP DRIP fuel leaking from carbs on the left side and one carb from the left right side. I'm about to pull the carbs again and change the carb O'rings, which I should done the first time!!
Do you think the fuel lines need to be changed as well ( before i took the carbs apart the first time I dosed her pretty good with Berryman B12)!!
and what other O'rings do I need to change while I'm at it again Undecided
thanks guys and be safe. cooldude

Replace them while you have the carbs out.  It may not NEED it but why not while you are there.

I ordered Carburetor Gasket Kit & the Bowl Gaskets from Redeye.
is there anything I should be aware of while I'm separating the carbs to change the fuel rails. e.g. springs flying, ball bearings. etc... or is it a straight forward wrappings !!!

I am in the process of trying to resolve a similar problem, just waiting on some parts.  I took some time to determine where the leaks are coming from.  Once the carb assembly is out you can set it on blocks down low then position the tank in an elevated position and connect them with a piece of spare fuel line to feed fuel to the carbs so you can inspect it.  On the bike the tank when full is less than 18" above the carbs, you can easily simulate this or exaggerate the head to get more pressure on the fuel rails and float valves.  The carb bowl gaskets can be finicky, they flatten out over time.  If you separate everything there are lots of small pieces, go slow, have some bins to separate parts into and you may want to take pics as you disassemble.

You can use the elevated tank as a check after rebuild as well to make sure you have no issues as far as leaks are concerned before installing the carb set.

I am also waiting on a DanMarc shutoff and am going to install that ASAP.  The bike I have has sat for a few years and I do not trust the needle valves.

I hope you have done the float needle valves as well.

and you are probably past the the point now you separated the carbs and getting the small springs back in can be fun, I usually stick one thumb in the bottom of a carb to hold the butterfly open and can set the spring in with the other thumb.

I am waiting on a Dan Marc and will replumb the fuel system when I install it.   3/8 fuel line I believe and you will need some barbs for the Dan Marc if you are still putting that in as well as some gear clamps, they should be #6 clamps for 3/8 hose.  You can check your supplier as some carry a couple of grades of push on with some being better quality than others.

These bikes like to be ridden not tinkered with. My ‘97 has had nothing done to it other than attic rats GLH upgrade.   Told me it was probably the cleanest 120k valkyrie he had worked on. Ride the bike dont tinker with things that dont need it. JMHO
