Amen. Our prayers certainly won't hurt.
And our votes. Happy Independence Day to you.

I agree with the "now more than ever"!!
We all probably remember back in the day the "America, Love It or Leave It" bumper stickers! I just ordered a couple a few days ago for my vehicles.
I think we need to send that message "now more than ever" TOO!!
Get it in these idiots heads that they are free to LEAVE if they aren't happy with the way things are.
I'd be willing to pitch in $ for a one-way plane ticket to any country they want. Providing they give up their US citizenship! That way once they realize they had it made here they'll have to apply for citizenship and start at the back of the line!!

A lot of hand wringing and anger about the direction our country seems to heading but in my mind I know we live in the greatest country ever formed. If we could remove politics from the forefront of our daily lives we would be better able to see each other as brothers (and sisters) with mostly the same values and aspirations. Skin color does not matter in the least to me but yet I’m bombarded with stories about racial issues instead of human issues.
I watched a short news story about a drive up Naturalization ceremony in New York. One of the participants receiving their citizenship that day was an immigrant from Africa. As such he would definitely qualify as an African American especially since he has been in country for 30 years. He stated that America was the greatest country on the face of the earth and most of his former countrymen felt the same way and aspired to come to the USA. So as always, perspective is everything no matter the color of your skin.
If we could get past skin color, and not let the politicians pit us against one another our country could really flourish. So I would like to add to Joe’s admonition, God Bless America.

It's impossible to " Get Past" any longer. The schools and universities teach from that perspective so that's how the younger generation thinks. I am dealing with this 1st hand and it's insanely frustrating, and very sad. Like the President said at Mt. Rushmore, our history is taught from a skewed perspective so this is all they know.
