I imagine it is a straight up bolt on and then disconnect vacuum line a plug nipple and remove oem on/off knob. Anything I'm missing?

Not really but go buy a pack of the smallest screw type hose clamps they sell. The fuel line won’t fit as tight. The up side is it’s super easy to get it off and on when removing the tank.

I have one of those. My thing is it's very hard to switch to reserve while riding. The handle is set way back  in the bike. At least that's how I would describe it.  As far as install it looks straight forward to me.

Looking closer at the Pingel I just purchased I'm not sure I see a filter over the stem like the oem has? Can somebody clarify this? Surely there is a filter?

Yes it comes with a filter over the intake tube. It’s not hard to function while riding , just a little reach. It’s worth it

YUP!!!   Reminds me of all the bikes I had, when young!  We never had......and obviously don't like the vacuum operated ones of today.

Learn where the fuel valve is on your bike, by memory.........even if you need to "reach" for it!!

Are any adjustments needed to the intake tube height for the IS?

I wish there were a Pingel for the IS that was plug and play!   Undecided

I didn't know there was a difference. Many of the parts suppliers show 16950-MZO-033 for Std, Tour and I/S. Am I missing something?

The Pingel that works on a standard works exactly the same on an Interstate. Plug and play. Plug the port on #6 and go play!
