Near here is upstate Rochester NY the 'protesters' just desecrated and pulled down the statue of Frederick Douglass. How clueless can these people be ! Douglass had homes in DC and Rochester NY and was well known for his equality work with locals Elizabeth Stanton and Harriet Tubman and was a great orator. How stupid can people be ? This is now about terrorism, plain and simple.

Terrorism is what BLM is all about. The want to poke and poke in the hopes that something will "happen" and then they will have more "ammunition" about how racist this country is and it will legitimize their response.
Until they are confronted by legitimate law enforcement for a major infraction, it will continue.

I support the BLM movement, but it is a fact that lots of people are infiltrated in the movement with the sole purpose to wreck havoc. A couple weeks ago in SF in the Golden Gate State park, some idiots removed a bust of General Ulysses Grant. Last time I checked, he was a war hero that lead the Union to conquer victory in the civil war and save the USA as the country we known. What is being taught in American schools?

I won't support the BLM movement. I support an All Lives Matter Movement. History , real history and civics have not been taught since the early 70s. Thats the reason these people know nothing.

Last time I checked, he was a war hero that lead the Union to conquer victory in the civil war and save the USA as the country we known. What is being taught in American schools? yah, supporting the BLM is probably not the majority concensus on this board. I understand the deep down principle of blacks and other races besides whites have been beaten down more so than the whites including slavery, but destroying property is downright criminal and they all should be in jail for 10 years period no question about it. going about it the wrong way for sure both sides. as far as what being taught in American schools, most of the teachers nowadays are in their 20's themselves so history is not their strong suit. Current events are more taught than history. It does surprise me though with all the 20 year olds or so rioting and looting since most high schools stress NO violence since my kids in our K-12 school system never got into 1 single fight in 12 years there not throwing 1 punch or even defending themselves the very few times (under 5 for sure) that they had any issues with other kids. I still remember the last few weeks of my fairly strong kid as a senior last year in high school. He literally asked me if he can get into a fight with someone for the heck of it since he has not been in one ever and wanted to for the heck of it. He was not too serious on it but actually wanted to could tell. I said NO since he was Valedictorian of his graduating class of 23 kids or so did not want him to loose his scholarship over a few punches since you get kicked out of school for throwing punches nowadays.

Re. BLM, a couple comments/quotes by Albert Einstein come to mind. They're constantly bellowing about how they're put down by the white man, especially when involved with the police re. a high percentage of killings at the hand of the police. Are they aware there is a higher number of white killings by police than blacks? Are they aware that at no other time in the history of our country has that section of our population had greater freedom and opportunity than ever before. When it comes to interaction with the police, the answer is simple; you do stupid things, you get stupid rewards. It's been that way as long as I've been around and doubt it will ever change, regardless of how loud they continue to bray.
“Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.”
"The majority of the stupid is invincible and guaranteed for all time. The terror of their tyranny, however, is alleviated by their lack of consistency."

You support this??? We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and “villages” that collectively care for one another, especially our children, to the degree that mothers, parents, and children are comfortable.

Now I read that they want "blacks only" places. They had those in the 60s. It was called segregation. They didn't like it much then and rightfully so. What the hell is this country coming too. George Floyd was a punk. He didn't deserve to die the way he did but he was no angel by any means.
But you know what really infuriating me over this whole thing? Nancy Pelosi giving Floyd's family a folded funeral flag. One of those flags draped my father's casket when we buried him last year. That honor is reserved for fallen vets not some low life scumbag thug. These dimwitted democrats hand out these honors like there candy.

I'm sure you are proud of your father, but your statements are totally inaccurate and needlessly negative towards several people. Do your research on the Capital Flag Program, which began in 1937. It provides that the flags flown over the capital CAN be presented to non veterans, virtually anyone. Anyone can write to his/her U.S. senators or representatives to request the flag. It is possible for anyone to have a flag flown over the U.S. Capitol to honor a person, organization or event. Hundreds of flags are flown over the Capitol building each day in order to accommodate all the requests for these flags. The House Members’ Congressional Handbook further states that members may use flags as official gifts. And there you go referring to some folks you don't even know as 'dimwitted'. It might be embarrassing to read a list of people that Republicans gave a Capital flag to, but I won't go there. So, the moral of the story, check your facts before you make such uninformed and obviously incorrect statements and try not to be so negative about your fellow man/woman. After all, we are suppose to love our fellow man.

Could this possibly be applied to your own thread? You seem to be acutely able to point out your fellow members negative attributes.

People don't like being forced into second class, but they often segregate when it is by choice... Black people didn't like crummy school buildings and white people's old worn-out school books. They didn't like having to eat on the loading dock at work, while white people ate in the lunch room. Forced desegregation was the government's idea...

Yep, funny isn't it. History repeating itself. Gee, I wonder why.
They want black only places , but, I would imagine they still want to go anywhere else they want. Would that be more reverse racism ? Naaaa.
I'm of the opinion the pendulum has swung too far.

Certainly is a movement. One BIG bowel movement. Enjoy that thought whenever the word "movement" comes up to describe BLM.

"May this flag, which flew over the capital on the day of your brothers murder, serve as a symbol of our shared commitment to securing justice for George and all victims of police violence." Anyone can fold the flag and present it in one of those triangle cases that can be purchased just about anywhere. And if anyone wants to purchase a triangle flag case, specifically for Capital flags, they can get one from hundreds of sources. Like this one, for $69 : https://ladylibertyflag.com/shop/capitol-flag-cases/
