I've read alot from hard core trumpers casting doubt of reports and numbers of COV19 infections and making statements about how this is just the Democrats controlling them.
One argument I read over and over from all you really smart people, goes something like, if the numbers were true, there would be rising deaths, but that isn't happening, and why isn't the MSM talking about that ?
So let's look at news releases today :
Soaring coronavirus infections in Texas, Arizona and Florida are pushing deaths from the disease back upward, reversing two months of declines and undercutting claims by the Trump administration that the pandemic is under control.
In Texas, where hospitals are being swamped by a wave of COVID-19 patients, the seven-day average of deaths hit 46 a day this week, more than double the daily average in mid-June, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.
The average daily death toll in Arizona has also more than doubled in the last month. And in Florida, another state where infections are skyrocketing, the daily average of coronavirus-related deaths has jumped 60% in the last 2½ weeks.
This week, there are nearly 10,000 COVID-19 patients in Texas hospitals, according to state data, more than triple the total from three weeks ago.
Alabama, where the number of new coronavirus cases has quadrupled since mid-May, has seen deaths hold relatively steady, but McCormick said few expect that pattern to hold.
Deaths typically lag several weeks behind infections and hospitalizations, experts note. That means that the widespread socializing that occurred when the governors of Texas, Florida, Arizona and other states began loosening restrictions in the spring is only now starting to be reflected in death rates.
“The problem is that many people do not understand or recognize the time delay and do not attribute the hospitalization and deaths to a specific time and event where little social distancing and little masking is happening,” said Dr. Manoj Jain, an infectious disease physician who is advising the mayor of Memphis, Tenn., on coronavirus.
Oh yeah, one more thing. For all of you smart people that have been saying it's the Democrats reporting these numbers, making them, etc...... I believe Texas, Arizona, Florida, Alabama and Tenn are all Republican held states with a Republican governor at the helm.
Just saying guys... why do you have to incessantly politicize the virus and make such statements that couldn't possibly be true. Sounds like some of you have no shortage of conspiracy theories and are anxious to tell talk about them. However, the facts don't back you up.
I'm pretty sure that most intelligent, rational folks realize that there will be a lag between infection, treatment, hospitalization, ICU care and death. And by all reports we are just now seeing the hospitals fill up and the ICU bed space becoming critical in some places. Death numbers are rising and will continue to rise in the states mention above as well as some others that are just now seeing an alarming rise in infections.

The virus is 100% political
It was released, hidden, weaponized and set loose on the western world and the USA by the Chinese Communist Party.
They shut down those trying to warn us and those brave folks are dead now
Biden and the Democrats benefit from a strong China as the graft flows to them China benefits from a weakened USA but it will backfire on them like Hirohito got it for Pearl Harbor
Death rate is still below the numbers who die from smoking, heart disease, car accidents
How many of those are called covid19 on death certificates? Most of them Doctors are reporting this all across the country
Is it dangerous ? Yes
I am the caregiver for my mom Ny just announced I have to do 14 day quarantine if I go to N.C. That means almost 21 days she will be alone. I will not put her through that.
Well I got it in March and I have the antibodies, Dont know if I can get it again but what worries me is pass it along to mom The jury is still out Once was enough for me, I can not risk losing her. Sorry but the mother f ing chinese have ruined my inzane, and I JUST changed the oil and filter on Sunday. Carl keep my registration money and I will try to help with the charity somehow also Maybe I will Venmo or paypal a member money to use for the right cause. (Who will help me?) Edit Thanks Skinhead but Serk gave me the paypal info already I am asking him to make sure MarkT gets some pie and the money to the charity.
I will hate the chinese communists as much as I hate the radical jihad all of my days

Soaring huh? really, from 34 to 100 deaths a day and total of 4000 in Florida. Not what I would call major, soaring, catastrophic or any other word that spreads terror and fear. A total of 950 deaths yesterday in the US, and 61k new cases. Cases have been more or less in this area. I much prefer a few other important numbers like, 4.5 mil cases all mild and 1% serious or critical. 93% recovered or discharged. I could go into more but suffice to say, you are the best example of the terror that the media tries to spread. You need to check your glee and fear at the door and be woke. I do have one question though, why is not the mayor and governor of NY in jail for literally killing those people in the nursing homes by putting the Covid patients in with them? Why is the CDC still listing cases in such a way as to classify all who got tested and came up as a positive and not making the distinction of those that have antibodies for it and those that actually have it? Do you ever look at the facts for yourself, or do you just listen to the media? Texas numbers are about the same as Florida so here it is. Everyone wants the same things a healthy country and everyone working. We are not so far off and the real ones that dont want this is many leaders and the media.

I see the arguments on both sides. The politicization of a novel virus has been maddening to me. I'm an American first, and forced lockdown and mandated masking won't and shouldn't fly here. Everybody has to find their personal comfort level and roll with it. Riding has been good for me this season! I spoke with my brother this morning. He mentioned a friend of his who he swam with competitively in college has the crap and is currently on dialysis fighting for his life from associated kidney failure. It is a real virus and it sucks. I didn't inquire about his friend's political affiliation. I agree that the areas mentioned are not trending well and must be prioritized. Hopefully the rampant spread will be reigned in over the coming weeks. Hopefully the winter season won't see another wave. Truth is, nobody knows but we can't endure national stagnation. Oss has it right. The ChiComs were caught screwing the pooch bat. They lied, and people died -- all over the world. I think EVERY SINGLE PROBLEM RELATED TO AND STEMMING FROM THIS VIRUS INCLUDING THE RESULTING GLOBAL ECONOMIC DEVASTATION AND SOCIOPOLITICAL DIVISION SHOULD BE DIRECTLY ATTRIBUTED TO THE ONES WHO KNOWINGLY DROPPED THIS STEAMING TURD UPON THE PLANET!

Second, if you read what the article said, "Soaring infections" not deaths.
And the facts are that in Florida, the were only 667 new case on 1 June.
On 4 July, there were 11, 458 new case, on 9 July there are 8, 935 new cases
So the answer is Yes, I would agree with the statement "Soaring infections"
Infections have been up and down, You are making and dramatizing a political point and a medical point neither of which is really supported by the facts. A quote from you: " The average daily death toll in Arizona has also more than doubled in the last month. And in Florida, another state where infections are skyrocketing, the daily average of coronavirus-related deaths has jumped 60% in the last 2½ weeks. " So we consistently have a up and down in the infection rate and this one report is again higher at the point of about 35 deaths. This is really the important number since the number of people taking the tests is growing and the fact that there is a 95% of people who contract it mildly and a 1 percent death rate, about the same as the common flu. Why don't we hear this? Its was predicted as a death sentence and it is not in any shape or form for most, the same as any illness. It is NOT UNIQUE in this regard. This is the problem, we knew nothing about this, closed down an economy on not knowing and a scare. Made wildly off number predictions of deaths, infections, and they were all wrong and now that we have some facts many are still dramatizing it way off mark. This has a purpose to scare people but serves no other purpose since the facts are being distorted in so many ways. 2.2 million people die of diarrhea a year, yet we dont close the economy, wear masks, shut beaches, give stimulus, hear on the news repeatedly that we are all going to die. So WHY NOT? The classification of deaths as well as the CDC admitting wrongful testing procedures also posses a problem in that death rates as well as infection rates are not accurate and slanted higher than a accurate reading. Come on put it in perspective of all the other diseases out there and grow a set and start thinking for yourself and finding the facts. Stop dramatizing on you don't like the president or his supporters. You posted it, you commented on it, so its your words unless you quote lies and dont care.

Anyone who when life and limb is threatened and does not do the research and relies on the media and bias to make a perspective and to secure their own life is leaving the deciding of his own fate to someone else. That in my estimation is lacking the conviction and wisdom to pursue the course of ones own life, that to me is like a child. The facts, the numbers, the directions and cause for the fanfare and dramatization of this is a political football. All need to cautious and weight up the facts so as to make not only a decision about their own personal direction but also the reason for the alarm and seriousness of it. If you cannot ascertain this how are you going to do that for the political environment we are in today? The inconsistencies presented in all these situations are glaring and telling and a critical thinker wants to know why and where they came from and why.

Since when did we need someone else to tell us what to do? Its not throwing caution to the wind its giving the facts as they know them and then letting each person take responsibility to protect themselves. Either as little or as much as they want or decide. I fully understand they had no facts and continue with minimal facts so why cant we decide? Fyi, Fauci has been dealing with this for more than 3 years along with Bill Gates. They made the decisions and are pushing for vaccines yet their predictions have been way wrong. They helped the finance, experimentation and building, funding the lab that this got out from. If the educated don't know then I can make as good a guess as them and do not need the news media to hype the situation. So why are they doing this? So Fauci, Gates cannot come up with anything better to help us, and they know the virus better than anyone else?

If you actually read my post, you would know that wan't a quote from me. It seems that the hundreds and hundreds of posts slamming the Democrats and blaming this virus on them, and stating it is some democrat plan to control us is ok with some. But when someone points out that something in particular that is being posted is in fact false, it ends up with ridicule and deflection (no surprises who). Instead of dealing with the facts, you deflect to speak to the number of people that die from diarrhea per year. What I've said is : some posts, stating that the MSM is not speaking to the number of deaths is wrong, and I have provided several quotes from MSM to back it up. What I did say about deaths was that the death rate lags behind infections as some folks go through the stages including infection, hospitalization, ICU, and death. You go off talking about the death rate and say the death rate is "about the same as the common flu" What is the current number of COVID deaths in the US ? Some where around 135, 000 How many people died from the common flue last year ? If we use CDC numbers ( the highest reported number I've seen) it was 80,000 And you tell me I should find the facts ! Hardly the case And your ridiculous assertion that because I am posting the exact words from MSM articles, they are my words is just that - absolutely ridiculous, wildly unreasonable, and illogical. And even if they are lies as you claim - I wasn't saying or suggesting in any way that the articles in MSM were true. Again if you read it - I was providing proof that MSM was in fact publishing articles about the current Death rates despite the posts here that said it wasn't happening. I guess reading comprehension is a skill some folks need to work on. I'm pretty sure there will be another wild rant, more deflection and possibly some statement about other unrelated things like how many people die from the bite of a horse fly but that's ok with me. I will not be silenced by wild rants, deflection, and bunch of horse puckey, or a case of verbal diarrhea.

Cases are way up in my county. We currently have 102 patients in the hospital I work in. During the whole lock down the most we had was 12. Having said that we still only have had 9 total deaths from it. So yes the infections are up but death rate not so much. We had 4 deaths back at the beginning of May with very low rate of patients in the hospital. Also out of the 102 inpatients as of now there are only 10 on a ventilator. By my math that is 10% of those needing hospitalization. Also the # of reported cases being up is due to more testing. I know 5 people personally that have it currently and the symptoms range from less than the common cold to one being on a ventilator. And the one on the ventilator is under the age of 40.

I'm one of the those wussies who would rather not have to visit a hospital at all due to of this crap. Call me crazy! Actually - I think that is a very measured and rational response right now. I wouldn't want to either, nor would I want to visit someone in a long term care facility either (even a very close family member). Far all my belly aching - I'm usually at home, going out for groceries or essential other shopping, or visiting friends who do much the same behavior ( or they come over to our place). I do on occaision go out for some windtherapy (it works wonders for attitude adjustment) or play / listen to music ( I play String Bass and piano, and if I had one Cello as well), when I'm listening to music I often sing along ( I'm not too shabby - at least people don't tell me to shut up normally) - music having the same effect as the wind therapy on me.

I am curious. If you don't mind. What was the general health of the "ventilator" person before the virus? Best wishes for your 5 friends.

I never believed this was a pandemic, an epidemic at it’s worst. I didn’t change my lifestyle at all. Most people around me panicked because they were told to by third parties. If I was wrong and three billion people died, at least we solved global warming. Worrying about death is worrying about the inevitable, I don’t have time for that crap.

I respect that, honestly. I do believe it it's a genuine global pandemic tho. Google coronavirus South Africa, then narrow the search to recent news.

They post so many numbers on this and a lot of it is positive/false data. As long as it falls within the corona virus syndrome they list it and the covid 19. Lot of false number and they are saying we are going thru the 2nd round of this. Funny no other country is having a 2nd round, but of course they aren't trying to un seat a president either David

My understanding is it's a spike in the first "round". I may be wrong.

But this is what you expect a totalitarian government to do to protect itself
It will not hesitate to kill, defame, discredit and lie.
Wake the hell up people.
Don't be like the frog in the pot that does not realize it is being boiled.
And focus your anger where it belongs, not against each other
