Theoretically;

If there was a massive EMP, and all electronics were down, what would be required to be kept in a Faraday box for said situation, in order to have your valkyrie usable again?

Reference video for this topic:  https://youtu.be/oHHSSJDJ4oo

Just trying to make friends and put some life in the forum. I purchaced my 99' red/black interstate in summer of '18 and have been riding it ever since last month (doing a carb job, waiting on 6 new air cut valves) and I just bought a running 97' tourer for spare parts after me and my gf rode 189 miles on her Rebel up to live oak FL to buy it from some farmer who didn't use it much.

Got to thinking about that video and wondered how much it would be to make a solar storm lock box for our bikes in case of the unlikely.

Just make your garage a Faraday cage, leave the bike parked. If a small box, the only electronics (my thinking anyway) would be the battery (you do have a new one in the box without the acid in it yet-right?) and the Ignition Control Module. I don't think the coils and regular wires would get fried......but I don't know.

believe it or not most of today's modern electronics are somewhat already harden from EMP. not military hardened but hardened none the less.

during the last yrs in my dept there was some testing of a new ship class and our equipment which was secondary equipment which had electronic components was not designed to survive. However the engineers and computer electronic techs in my dept were amazed that our equipment survived without a hitch. It was attributed to just the modern design of today's electronics.

 2funny A man after my own heart!  If we are hit by an EMP attack, I also would want to be riding my Valkyrie through the post Apocalyptic wasteland.  Just because.
