At the Gunnison Alta gas station today.  It was awesome seeing Whooray again, and meeting some of his riding companions.  I talked them into changing course and riding the newly paved Cottonwood Pass.  They probably hate me now, as just before departure I scanned the sky with my local eyes and confidently announced that I didn't think we'd get wet.  I asked them not to hold it against me in the event that we do.  We did, they didn't.  Murphy's Law,  just about at summit we came upon an invigorating Rocky Mountain rain/hail storm, with no immediate pull offs.  It was a bit chilly and we were pretty damp when we arrived at the west side overlook.

Nobody tried to strangle me so I guess it's all good!

I'm glad I got to show off a new favorite ride, but sorry the conditions weren't ideal for it.

It's always great to meet up with others from another region. Those Idaho boys are good people for sure...we were pleased to host them up here last June for Valhalla, and also to ride some of their turf the past couple Septembers at their Joseph OR meetup. Seems every time I've ridden with them I've gotten wet at least one day, so maybe... just maybe, this wasn't your fault?  Wink Wink
Hopefully next year, the Mrs, her new knee, and me get a chance to ride Colorado... we'll be expecting better weather though if you have a chance to lead us on your favorite run Grin

2funny  Well if y'all make it down thisaway I can promise state hope there won't be any inclement or spooky weather popping up, but midsummer days near treeline are always somewhat -- exciting unpredictable!  They even got to witness a few Colorado lightning bolts at high elevation!   Shocked  I didn't even charge them for the extra invigoration!

It was a happenstance, spontaneous ride so I didn't have time to check the weather forecast...  I'll try to do that next time.   Wink

Man! You'd have to pay $350 at Disneyland for a ride like that!
