I replaced the clutch line, master cylinder and the slave cylinder on my 2000 Interstate.

Where the bleeder goes into the slave cylinder is leaking like crazy.

I ordered a new banjo bolt and new crush washers.

If you look closely at the washers the two sides are different:

One side is totally flat

While the other side is more rounded.

My question is:

Which side goes against which surface?

It doesn’t matter. You can buy them at ACE, HD, and Lowes. Bring the old one and match the size.

Just a question, but are you using two washers?

I've always put the flat side to the banjo.

I don't think it matters.

That's what I thought I did.

I haven't taken it back apart to see yet, I was waiting for the new washers to come in.

I'm not sure if it does or not, but I figure their has to be a reason why the two sides are different.

Most likely it's a function of the manufacturing process.  They are likely stamped out of sheet metal, causing the rounding.  Ordinary flat washers are the same.  I always put the rounded edge towards the fasterer, and the square (or burred) edge towards the thing I'm fastening.  It looks better, IMO, and the sharp edge of the washer can't cut anything.

regular stainless flat washer:

You can also use the old washers by heating them cherry red and dropping it in water.
