Finally got something going with the Relive app..

I'm REALLY loving the CT 1000 on the back, it's silky smooth, feels solid as hell and grabs the road unbelievably on the twisties.

The day was hot but not toobad, stopped and had a 1/2 lb double cheeseburger and fries.. ahhhhh

Nice ride!

I lived in Pismo several (four, already?) decades ago, and would sometimes "trade" my Camaro for my roommate's CB650 for the day.  There were some fun roads around the hills and shoreline there.  Years later I took the Shadow from Colorado to the Mateel area and rode around in the Redwoods and down to the beach around Eureka.  It was awesome.

I'm really glad you love the Zeetex!  It's the best darkside tire I've ever run!   cooldude

Are you talking Pismo Beach? I lived there and other places on the Ca central coast during the 80's after getting out of the Air Force (was stationed at VAFB).. some of the best times of my life were during the 80's.. God I miss those days.

Holy crap man! It was really good back there, Yancy McFadden's up on the hill off the 1, The Graduate in San Luis Obispo.. Avila Beach.. The hot tubs there were cool too, can't remember the name. There was a dive bar I bounced at for a time in Pismo, can't remember the name. I was a meathead back then and trained at a gym in Arroyo Grande.
I lived right on Wadsworth Ave in those green cottages on the right as you head West off the 1.

Do you remember the night the Pismo Beach pier went down? I was on it that same night after partying, a buddy and I walked out on it while we were pretty wasted, it was shaking all over and I said we better GTFO before it collapsed, the next morning it was a pile of logs washing up on the shore..

I worked at Diablo Canyon nuke plant for a time while there.. also on the oil platform Hondo..

The Five Cities in the 80's.  Woo-hoo!  cooldude  Moved to CA with my silver Camaro and a thousand bucks. I lived in Arroyo Grande, actually Halcyon zip code as it was the least expensive place I could find at the time -- then I started hearing it had a "questionable" history.  ???  Worked on Shell Beach and at Avila Hot Springs.  Ate the best clam chowder regularly on Avila Beach, by the cup or bowl.  Better seafood even at The Olde Port Inn on the Avila pier.  I even hung around Pirate's Cove from time to time.  Wink F. McLintock's Saloon was always packed!  Free coney dogs at Harry's happy hour!  Ya I remember the Pismo pier collapse.  Cool

Great times!!!

You didn't know Sybil, did ya?  smitten

I enjoyed the 80's too.

Although, most of my memories from that decade are pretty fuzzy.

Wow, you're bringin up some good memories.. I filled in for a buddy at Harry's now and then, Sybil worked there? If she did I didn't know her.. back then I was all over the place, constantly doing something. A buddy of mine owned the Beacon gas station in Pismo, I also knew a lot of the firefighters there too.
McLintocks was an awesome place. My girl and I went up to San Simeon last year, it was beautiful. A nice peaceful hotel for a couple nights, we hit Hearst Castle and then Big Sur.. I wanted to be on my Valk so bad.. looking at the twisties and beautiful scenery it was incredible.

Have you heard of Pashnit dot com? The site was HUGE and full of MC routes all over Ca, he's in the process of re-doing it now, wants to make it bigger than before. Central and Northern Ca is chock full of great riding roads, with nobody on them  uglystupid2 I'm going to do a solo trip at some point, my girl can't do long distance  Sad, but I can  Grin

Old Port Inn! makes my mouth water thinking of the seafood there.. back then we could get Abalone on the local rocks.. different time, different world.

Sybil worked there?

different time, different world.

Nope she didn't work there, but she worked me over in the best of ways.  She was my first exposure to California girls, and she was one wicked angel!

Indeed, yes indeed.

Ah yes, met a few Sybils up there Haha, it was such a great area to be in during that decade, I moved to Santa Barbara in 87, then to San Diego in late 89..
California back then was really great, now it's still great, aside from all the other BS.. I want to move when my girl retires.
For now I train at home, can run on the beach or trails, and ride into the hills any time I want to.. so life here is what you make it. I walked around pissed at the world when all the covid sheet started, now I'm trying to chill and live in gratitude for what I have now, vs what I used to have..

All good brother, hope to meet you someday, I want to ride to Sedona at some point, then to Angel Fire NM where a friend of mine just bought some acreage, he's up over 9000' and it sounds fantastic.

Ya, the fruits and nuts have pretty much commied Cali.  Sounds like you've got the right attitude, and have discovered life's "master key" (gratitude).  You're in a beautiful place.  Enjoy the best of it, to hell with the rest of it!   cooldude

Love NM, born there.  Angel Fire (your friend is lucky), Eagle's Nest, Chama, Taos -- some good roads in the northern high desert areas and mountains.

Hope to share some wind someday as well...
